Wowza they seem to have pulled it off! The spacex spacesuit you are used to seeing is an IVA suit that is just designed to be worn inside a ship in case things go wrong. It is comparable to the orange suit from the space shuttle.

This new spacex spacesuit is an EVA suit that is designed to be worn outside the ship. It is comparable to the huge white suits on the ISS.

The spacex spacesuit would need a backback for life support but just look how relatively sleek it is! Will be awesome to learn more about it today and see it in action on Polaris dawn.

Really crazy that this suit was 100% privately funded. Might see SpaceX land astronauts on the Moon in SpaceX spacesuits if the NASA funded ones aren't ready. This current suit would not work on the surface of the Moon as is, but jumping from IVA to EVA was the hard part.

Wonder what PSI it'll run with. Might use a lower one to increase mobility, but that's a tradeoff. Ideally you want to be as close to regular air pressure as possible and get high mobility through other means.

5.1 psi. Current ISS ones are 4.3, so this is a decent improvement. Apollo was 3.7 psi.
