after all of MS's acquisitions did I buy an Xbox??  nope,.. I got a steam deck.  

MS is very much positioned to kill Sony but that doesn't mean MS reaps all the benefits.  PC/steam and Nintendo are better positioned to gain more from Sony's demise imo.

Well we get enough hints to deduce numbers based on past numbers and percentages up/down for example, sometimes with more info.

We also recently got Europe/EU and UK numbers which were torrid for xbox

I think we also have to consider that both Bethesda and CoD have been on a negative trend in the past 5-10 years or so. Gamers aren't as hyped for them as before

My 8TB PS5 external drive seems to be struggling.

Started Minecraft and it just hangs at the loading screen. And I had to remove it and reinsert it a few times for the system to recognize the drive.

I can still move files to and from it. But it feels like I should work on replacing it this year.

Maybe a 4 TB internal drive would be better....

That's what I hate about normal hard drives. I've had numerous fail on me with massive amounts of content lost (on PC)

Share Screen Interactions
Players watching Share Screen in full screen mode can now use pointers and emoji reactions to interact with the host's gameplay.

Viewers can move a pointer around, send a ping or draw a line on the shared screen, allowing them to highlight certain objects or areas to guide the host player more accurately.
Viewers can send emoji-based reactions to the host's screen to visually encourage and celebrate gameplay actions.
Note: this feature is available by default but can be turned off by the host in the Share Screen settings. Both the host and the viewer must be participating in the beta to use this feature during the beta period.

so i played last night.  my thoughts are:

1. i still suck at PVP MP.    ...but the TTK in foamstars is high enough that at least i'm not dead all the time.

2. gameplay is quite hectic.   it's fun but at the same time i'm pretty clueless atm on how to get better.   the good news at least is the "star player" mode means i don't necessarily need to be the best to still do well.  i've always preferred support classes and i found i could make a difference simply by doing my best to support the star player.

3. the worst part of the game, imo, is the matchmaking process.    in rocket league when you finish a match you click "play again" and you go right back into match making while you review the results of the previous match and most of the time you are off to your next match before you can even finish reading.    in foam stars not only could i not got immediately back into match making they kicked me to the room that's i'm supposed to decorate, walk across it, interact with the multiplayer menu system, and finally select my prefered mode.   

i can forgive a 30 second wait for matchmaking.  i can't really forgive an extra 30 seconds just to join matchmaking.   even just a couple matches got me feeling like it was too laborsome.   i really hope they patch that.

helldivers 2 #1 on steam*

Helldivers 2 is currently #1 on the Steam top sellers list for paid games in the US. It's ahead of Palworld.

It's also the #1 most pre-ordered game on the PlayStation Store in the US and other regions.

I have it in preorder.   I was like 10 years late to the first but I loved the ideas.  very happy about the shift to 3rd person. 

only shame is I won't be able to play tomorrow.

Could still go many different ways, but that'd be pretty cool if it blew up. Has done a great job expanding from the first.

Maybe Helldivers 3 will add a massive single player campaign

not too shabby.   its no fortnight or GTA but i'm happy to see it's a decent success.   i was super surprised when i downloaded the original ~7 years after release and found enough people to play with that i always had a full party.   i assume that this game will be able to maintain at least that small passionate community after this mostly positive reception.
