So unless I'm totally off my rocker Dr. Pezus is from Iceland so this thread is kind of for you.

my wife wants to go back to Costa Rica next year and I'd rather go somewhere I haven't been and Iceland is pretty near the top of my list.  so help me sell this:

1. is November a good time for tourism?  she's planning something for over Thanksgiving week.  ..or is summer better if we would only ever go once to Iceland.

2. is 9 days enough or too much?   again,.. planning for Thanksgiving break so 1 week is the max.

3.  the big one is kids stuff?   my wife thinks it would be cool for adults but that the kids would be bored.   they would be 10 and 8 next year.

Iceland is cold and windy in November. If you don't care about that it's probably more fun to see around that time with possible Northern Lights and probably less tourists overall.

Time depends on what you want to do. Lots of places to see all over the country so if you want to drive around 9 days is probably not enough.

Kid stuff depends on what the kids are interested in. We have plenty of cool stuff to see and tourist attractions here and there, some things exciting for kids like real lava, possibly a real volcanic eruption hehe and some regular kid stuff

i mean,.. it's always kind of cold no?   i figured that was part of the deal when deciding to go to iceland.   dress appropriately is the thing i keep seeing on web sites.  the northern lights is something i would be excited for.   ...but would the days be soo short that other stuff is less accessible because daylight is soo short?  like how long are the days in the winter that close up to the artic circle in the winter time?

as far as kids go,.. is there city stuff a kid would like anywhere like in reykjavik?   all the tourism site focus on the natural stuff (which is the reason i want to go) but it helps with the kids to have different stuff from day to day.   they will like waterfalls, hot sprints, and lava but they won't like it for 9 straight days.  i'm not expecting disney world or anything but something more in that direction is what i'm looking for and not really finding.

Legend

I've wanted to go to Iceland. Death Stranding looked so great and I loved Alaska.
