Another look at Spider-Man 2's insane fast-travel system.

The fact that you can travel to any location, even the opposite corner of the map, with ZERO loading is absolutely mind-boggling.

The person on Era sharing the tweet, tagged an Era user that works at Insomniac and told them to patch it out, "because people will think they're hiding loading with it".

Me: I'm 99% sure that it is, and that's okay. I would be thrilled to see ~1.5 second loads.

What's up with that lighter colored rectangle patch in spiderman 2? Around his right hand, even in/over the puddle.

Twitter video sucks but that looks more like a game glitch.

1. if it is hiding a load screen,.. whatever that is Soo much faster than anyone else. 

2. if it's not hiding a loading screen than don't get rid of the "confirmation" press but a bit faster would be nice.  

3. honestly the slowest part was the speed of the cursor when selecting a new location.  I would hope to speed that up a bit.

I wanted to make this joke before going to bed.  

"The real impressive trick is that the game actually loads whatever is underneath the cursor. The long button press is just to make sure you're actually done."

That's brings up a real question I have. You previously used to only be able to fast travel between subway stations, yet now you can fast travel everywhere. They make spiderman come swinging in but you're already where you wanted to go.

It'll be interesting to see how that feels when playing.

I'm certain they developed an AI algorithm that reliably faces spiderman in the opposite direction of where you really wanted to go so the game is frustrating as hell.  

it's why I'm Soo glad hero MS was able to buy up ABK away from arrogant Sony.
