If you live outside an English speaking country, sometimes subtitles on Netflix are just of the language of that country. So it's very very annoying, specially when you know for certain they have English subtitles, they just don't give you the option to use them

I haven't noticed any movies without subtitles. I have at least one tv series without subtitles, unfortunately. Which I haven't fixed yet.

Weird question.

Does anyone have useless talents?

I can wiggle my ears.
I can snap with any of my fingers + snap with 3 of them in succession.

I can flair my nostrils without making any other facial movements.

I can retract my eyes into my head which is useful creeping people out.

I can move my eyes independently from each other.

I can do that thing where your right and left arms move in different direction circles.

I can also snap my fingers in succession and you are the first person I know of that can also do it.

I know 3 ways to whistle and can leverage that to "circular breath" a consistent whistle that last "forever".

I don't really need to blink. i like winning back to back to back to back starring contests without ever blinking between.

I can only snap 2 fingers in succession.

Can also move my eyes left right independently, or do you mean up down?

That's really cool with circular breathing. Def can't do that. I can't even whistle.

I can predict coin tosses accurately close to 100% of the times from about 50% of the times they are played

Spoiler for Star Wars 9:
"Somehow Palpatine Returned"

A lot of people are bugged by this line, apparently because it's nonspecific. But I think it's bad for other reasons. I feel like it might be worse if they gave an answer that didn't make sense for the person to know about.

I'll admit I haven't seen the movie.

I can live with someone not having a magical answer on how something happened or how someone came back. My bigger complaint is that the line doesn't feel very natural. It doesn't feel like something I would say to someone. It doesn't feel like a piece of dialogue to me, it feels more like something a lazy writer would use to talk to the readers. Not something where two people are talking to each other.

If that makes sense.

I saw this video, and this is so much worse. Like none of this feels rational.

Legend

I think the star wars line is still worse.

Hot dogs are stupid but maybe that fits the character.

Spoiler for star wars 9:
I agree with you that a nonspecific line is fine, but the movie immediately explains it a line later. "dark science, cloning, secrets only the sith would know" or something like that.

It's exactly as you say, written for the audience. Palpatine is back, just go with it.

That's what makes it suck soo much. It's the big setup of the main conflict in the movie and yet they essentially say "yeah we just did this for the nostalgia/marketing. Don't question it."
