Saw some clips of My Adventures with Superman, and thought it looked great.

It seems like they straight up lifted Luz from Owl House to play Lois. Very similar appearance and personality. Absolutely amazing to me.

I watched all 6 episodes today. It certainly wasn't the most amazing show ever, but it made me so happy. I love this version of Lois.

It's a show about Super man who is just trying his best. It focuses a lot more on the character than the action.

I've heard a lot of good things about Lois.

Only version of her I really know is the Amy Adams one, so what's better here?

I won't necessarily say better.

She's a fun combination of goofy and confident. She feels less like the usual Lois, and more like a character ripped from one of my favorite shows.

Twisted Metal Races To Record Comedy Debut For Peacock – Deadline

QuoteThe company didn't report exactly how many people have watched Twisted Metal, but it is apparently joining the ranks of Bel Air, The Best Man: Final Chapters, Poker Face and Based on a True Story as one of Peacock's top five original series launched to date.

Nielsen data shows that Twisted Metal drew 400M viewing minutes in the weekend following its July 27 premiere, making it one of the week's most-watched streaming originals.

Three things:

1. Deadline really should use oxford commas.

2. I don't think I've heard of a single one of those shows.

3. Solid redemption compared to the first teasers. Might end up better than the Halo show.

Disclaimer: My experience with DC animated TV series is limited. I know a few series are supposed to be excellent.

But the biggest one I have experience with is Justice League, and probably a dozen animated movies. So much of the animated stuff feels problem driven. Like there's a new bad guy every other episode, and most of the pair of episodes is centered around the problems that the bad guy is causing.

Personal problems sometimes exist, but the shows just tend to feel like they're 90% about fighting / solving a problem.

My adventures with superman isn't like that at all.  There is actual dynamic between the characters and it's amazing.

I installed Jellyfin, apparently some people use it in tandem with Plex to get the best of both worlds.

I haven't gotten a great try with it. It seemed less responsive than Plex in terms of UI; but that could have been related to first time usage.

But it seems to have good features with better plugin support.

Why would you use both? Wouldn't 1 be better than the other for all movies/shows?

Plex has better platform support. The PS5 supports Plex, whereas it does/did not have a way to stream when I got it.

Jellyfin is supposed to be better for offline use. Plex has some online authorization, you can give IP addresses a pass, but for some reason it seems to work better on different clients. I was able to get it to work on the TV (Android OS), but it wasn't working on Roku.

And I thought it would be good to try it out, if you guys needed any help with Jellyfin.

Monk, Psych and Columbo are all getting released on blu-ray this year.

Good time for physical media...

I haven't seen the new season yet, but I really appreciate that Futurama has relatively consistent characters.

It bugs me a lot when I get into a show and a character becomes exclusively a trope. Like when a dumb character just becomes a dumber character and that's the entire depth to them. Or when the trope of everyone hates this character, becomes the only reason why that character even comes up.

Fry is a dumb character, and a lot of similar shows would just make that all he is. But he continues to have other traits, a friendship with Bender and likes Leela throughout.

New season is way too topical, but yup the characters are still the characters. No flanderization.
