I don't play my PS5 nearly enough. I've owned it for 3 years and yet the menus still feel foreign to me compared to ps4. I just struggled to eject a disc for example.

I was in the drop down menu for the game with the "play game" and "•••" so when "•••" didn't have it I assumed it was different on PS5.

go to any tile and click the options button.

technically I think that's even easier than on PS4 because of memory serves you couldn't do it from any tile,.. you had to be on the game/dvd tile for the disc based thing specifically.

Ya I figured it out last night, but the fact I had to "figure it out" shows how rusty I am with PS5.

So I've gotten 4 controllers at this point.

2 at launch/shortly after.

And 2 more in the last couple months. The third controller I got was good I think. Except I think it's gotten dropped or something. The R2 button was kind of sticking out in a way it shouldn't have and it was pushing up against the R1 button. So both were jammed.

I fixed it a while ago. And now suddenly having issues with it again. The R1 button doesn't push back.

And now my newest controller is having minor issues. There's an issue with the X button not really pushing back very well. I can basically press the X button on the other controllers twice as many times.

Huh. PS4 and Switch are so far the only times my controller didn't last a whole generation.

QuoteFor the past five years, we've been on a journey with accessibility organizations and experts to create a versatile controller kit that enables gamers with disabilities to play more comfortably and for longer periods, empowering more players to share in the joy of gaming. Today, I'm thrilled to announce that the Access controller for PS5 will be available globally on December 6, with preorders kicking off on Friday, July 21.

Available for a suggested retail price of $89.99 USD/$119.99 CAD/¥12,980 JPY/€89.99/£79.99 (MSRP), the Access controller lets you customize your layout with different button and stick caps in various shapes and designs, operate the controller from any 360° orientation, and connect third-party accessibility accessories using its four industry-standard 3.5mm expansion ports.

QuoteOn your PS5 console, there are many settings for the Access controller that you can configure to meet your needs. You can map buttons to create up to 30 control profiles, adjust stick settings, toggle commands on/off, or disable buttons altogether to stop accidental pressing. You can even pair up to two Access controllers and one DualSense wireless controller together and use them collaboratively. Check out the video below for a sneak peek at the countless ways you can craft your own gaming experience through the Access controller:

Quoteaccording to my own sources, who asked to remain anonymous because they were unauthorized to speak on such details, a PlayStation 5 Pro is in development and it's codenamed 'Trinity'.

If you think the codename has some form of familiarity, you're right. Sony has used The Matrix codenames in the past, with the PlayStation 4 Pro under the codename 'Neo' and PlayStation VR under 'Morpheus'.

It's understood that Trinity has been in development since early 2022, with sources citing that although the rumours of a canceled PlayStation 5 Pro project are always "fun to read", Trinity has been the only project in the works for the Pro model. Despite dates being tentative, it's understood that demo events for the PS5 Pro are already ongoing, with the majority of studios receiving development kits by late November 2023.
QuoteAlthough the Pro's specs were difficult to pin down, admittingly due to my lack of technological prowess, sources have stated that Trinity with have 30 WGP and 18000mts memory.

As for the consoles performance targets and as to be expected, the PlayStation 5 Pro will be targeting improved and consistent FPS at 4K resolution, a new 'performance mode' for 8K resolution, and accelerated ray tracing.

Whether or not a PlayStation 5 Pro console is desired enough in the current market remains to be seen, but as of writing, the PlayStation 5 Pro is in development and is targeting a November 2024 release date.

A PS5 pro just seems so useless. Practically no one has 8k screens and PS5 isn't underpowered feeling.
