- 55 TV shows (Notable: Avatar the Last Airbender, Breaking Bad, Columbo, Game of Thrones, Parks and Rec, The Office)
- 37 complete
- 16 in HD + A few others that were never made in HD

Notable shows I'd like to pick up yet: The Sopranos, The Wire, The Good Place

- 473 movies (Notable: Every ghibli, many disney + pixar, many DC Animated from that 30 for $8 deal..., a lot of Scooby Doo)
- 14 in 4K
- 98 in 1080p

Notable movies I'd like to pick up yet: The Godfather, Good Will Hunting, The Prestige

(A lot of the movies are from my parents, so no I didn't spend that much money.)
Where do you have your Plex located?  I'm looking at maybe setting one up for a single base for all my content I have right now.

I have my gaming computer set up with a Plex media server.

Jellyfin is another alternative that is free and open source.
Plex has a paid pass, but that's mostly if you want to stream to your phone or outside of the house I believe. Or if you want to share with someone else. I got the lifetime pass for $60 I think, but it's regularly $120. Streaming to Roku and console is free I believe. My parents have access to my Plex.

And a crazy 12 TB of media, mostly ripped from DVDs and blu-ray.

I feel like I would have a hard time recommending it, because it takes a fair amount of effort to set up.

If you already have a collection of movies on your computer that are DRM free, it's easy to set up.

I personally like collecting movies and it's super nice to have all my media in one place.

Is it super easy to switch from plex to jellyfin, or do they have different file/folder requirements?

Cool.  Yeah i figure i'd just set up on my PC. I plan on upgrading my rig eventually so i'd just then use my current one as a plex server full time.

My biggest thing i would want something like this for is i eventually plan to have a nice big theater room in my house when i'm able to get/build one.  So i'd have everything accessible in a single location for the theater

I'll just start getting things set up with it little by little.  I'm not in a rush for it anyway.

I haven't tried Jellyfin, but it looks like the file and folder requirements are almost the exact same.

This is from Jellyfin's website:
Movies
├── Film (1990).mp4
├── Film (1994).mp4
├── Film (2008)
│   └── Film.mkv
└── Film (2010)
    ├── Film-cd1.avi
    └── Film-cd2.avi

Plex strongly recommends putting the movies in their own dedicated folder like that third one is, due to faster matching I guess.

If you are forcing a match, this is where it looks different:
Plex:  {imdb-tt0372784}
Jellyfin: [imdbid-tt12801262]

But I've only had to label one of my movies from what I recall.

TV shows, I recommend doing this:

Shows
├── Series (2010)
│   ├── Season 00
│   │   ├── Some Special.mkv
│   │   ├── Episode S00E01.mkv
│   │   └── Episode S00E02.mkv
│   ├── Season 01
│   │   ├── Episode S01E01-E02.mkv
│   │   ├── Episode S01E03.mkv
│   │   └── Episode S01E04.mkv

── Series (2018)
    ├── Episode S01E01.mkv
    ├── Episode S01E02.mkv
    ├── Episode S02E01-E02.mkv
    └── Episode S02E03.mkv

The top one is supported in both, the bottom one is probably supported in both, as it looks like Plex has updated to support that. But still, probably best to do the top for ease reasons.

A big downside of Jellyfin is platforms you can use it on. Plex has an app on PlayStation and Xbox, even for the free tier. Whereas Jellyfin doesn't.

I didn't like it that much, sorry :'(

Saw dead reckoning today. Almost as good as fallout. Lots of great scenes but a worse plot/bad guy.

I watched shazam. Honestly, do people really read these scripts before making these movies?

The first or second? I enjoyed both but yeah they're pretty dumb.

With movies being so expensive nowadays I'd love if there was a person who's sole job was just making sure things make sense. Like a continuity supervisor but for the plot.

The first. It started off okay, nothing great, but it wasn't too dumb. But the third act was just horrible. Why do action movies insist on including kids in fight scenes. Its annoying and dumb.  There is just a lot of dumb things in it. And at the times the acting was horrible

Oh boy just wait for the acting in the second.  :P

I think ill pass. It had some good elements. But the cast was really annoying and the fight scenes sucked

It's essentially this generation's Paranormal Activity. Will be interesting to see how it fairs internationally once it's eventually released.

So what happened to box office mojo? Why did they stop updating their site with articles and such? They even stopped doing head to head comparisons

Yeah they were the best a decade ago but for years they've been cannibalizing it to try and push people towards IMDB.

the-numbers.com is a good replacement.
