I kind of think there might be a split between the gaming and etc group, where the gaming group might be a bit more right wing.

But yeah, there's an overwhelming sense that MS is the good guy in gaming because day 1 game pass and day 1 PC.

Pete Hines asking why Bethesda games are exclusive  ???

nnodley

Man this should absolutely be the most damaging thing to happen for this deal but there's still a part of me that thinks MS will be able to bully and lie their way to merging with Acti.

This is so dangerous for this industry

It's just so hard to fathom how any gamer can think this is good. fudgy mind-boggling

Legend

Confirms tes6 was turned into an exclusive.

Jim seems very unprepared.

It's funny how much people dislike Jim Ryan, but it's nice that at least one person from the old guard is still in charge.

I *listened to the Jim Ryan bit.

*There's the zoom meeting, and someone was streaming the audio from there I guess, and the judge had some strong words about that person.

Some of the characterizations that I've seen, seem a little bit dishonest.
Like Jim Ryan was trying to say that Microsoft is a platform holder first, and a publisher second; and they don't have the same level of responsibility to each version of the game. A lot of people were characterizing him as saying that Microsoft is not a publisher, except they are. He admittingly did a very poor job of making that distinction, and the whole context generally comes across as him back tracking.

I kind of got a feeling from that part of the audio. Just kind of seemed like Jim Ryan had given up on this.  Did not seem to be prepared for this at all.

It seems like today went very well for Microsoft.

Overall, I feel like MS's really going to fight this, and it's not over yet.

Jim apparently doesn't know that SIE makes third person games...

"These first person, graphically beautiful narrative rich games will continue to be the bedrock of our first party publishing business"

They're not expecting that every live service game will be a massive success, but they're expecting that it will build on what they've already done.

Jim Ryan got asked about SIE having larger acquisition targets, and he basically said that they have criteria such as being able to help them with a wider audience, then it goes on the list.

Oh dang, some of the censorship was poorly done..

I think that says Horizon 2 cost $212 million? TLOU cost $220 million?
