GG is definitely one of Sony's top dogs

In fact (from the numbers we have) horizon ZD outsold any ND release from last gen

Horizon ZD : 24 million ~
Uncharted 4: 16 million
TLoU 2 : 10 million
Uncharted lost legacy : unknown. But definitely not 10 million

Ragnoraks numbers are just an another level.

not sure you're math checks out there.  32.7 million - 8.4 million does indeed = 24.3 million but....
- horizon call of the mountain
- i'm not 100% sure that sony isn't double counting a bit with horizon frozen wilds.  i know its bundled now with the "Complete" edition now but i payed for it separately.

We already know that Horizon Zero Dawn sold over 20 million.

Like Pi pointed out we have officially numbers that its over 20 million as of over a year ago

So we know its something over 20 million. And with this update we can safely assume its close to 24 million. Either way my point stands that GG is a top dog at Sony. They also been having a steady release schedule since killzone 2 released. They do take time to make their games now but its nothing absurd.

Killzone 2 - 2009
Killzone 3 -  2011
Killzone SF -2013
Horizon ZD - 2017
HZ frozen wilds - 2017
Horizon FW - 2022
Horizon BS - 2023

yeah okay,.  I either never saw or forgot about that tweet.  clearly I'm wrong.

in a way though, that makes forbidden west look worse.  lots of non-returning customers.  myself included.

It felt like Forbidden West disappeared after release; so few were talking about it online.

I was really worried it had flopped but 8.4 million in the first year is great. Maybe Sony would have liked more since it's such a massive game but that's a huge amount of sales near full price.

nnodley

yeah it sold more faster than Zero Dawn which is a win considering Zero Dawn started out huge anyway.

I can only speak for myself but...
1. $70
2. PS5 is bc
3. ps+ gives me Soo many games for free

...all lead me to skipping this.  I bought TLoU 2 and Ghost of Tusima at $45 and still haven't played either. so when horizon shipped I just couldn't pull the trigger.  hell, it's free on extra right now and I still haven't played it.  I did download ZD though so I could finally play the frozen wilds I bought like 20 years ago.....

Quote from: the-Pi-guy on Sep 13, 2023, 04:49 PMJokes on you, it's almost 2 years since Horizon 2 came out.

They'll announce the complete edition for PS5, and then it'll come out on PC 5 months from now.

That awkward moment when you were right all along.

we can add you to that "insiders" thread.   would be great for tracking all the times you were wrong about a ps showcase.  xD

I think I've always been right about there being a "show" :P

Just not a showcase, I'll take the L's there.

Hope it does good. I really liked forbidden west and horizon 3 is my most hyped Sony game.

QuoteOn top of image quality upgrades, there are also performance upgrades on PC. 120fps - whether achieved via brute force or via DLSS 3 - is another palpable improvement over the console experience. The question is whether your PC has the horsepower to do so, which brings us onto the topic of Nixxes' recommended settings. In general, I think they are fine - with one caveat. To achieve the targets set out in the spec sheet, dynamic resolution scaling is required for consistency.

QuoteThose are my initial thoughts on Horizon Forbidden West in its pre-launch state. It's got a lot going for it and does look like a good port with plenty of customisation potential and a decent array of PC extras. Most importantly, it runs smoothly, without some of the consistency issues I saw in the launch versions of Marvel's Spider-Man or Ratchet and Clank - and general performance should satisfy users, especially if the default dynamic resolution scaling option is enabled.

speaking of horizon.  The playstation direct site had the collectors edition with the tremortusk on sale for $99. So i bought it. lol

I was surprised it wasn't all sold out right after launch.  But they did have both it and the regalia edition.
