I'm not sure about starfield.  Bethesda has had big title but not consistently.  plus it's technically a new IP and it will be on PC.

honestly, MS's big effort to gobble up big publishers is a big part of why I got a steam deck.  I'll bet I'm not the only one.    a commitment to day-1 PC releases really benefits steam more than Xbox.

Sounds like Bluepoint is a ways out yet.

Could just be their next project. The Demon's souls remake had great audio so they must have some solution already in place.

Somehow I knew exactly what your comment was going to be.  ;D

There was an "interview with a ND developer" posted that seemed to be AI generated... claiming that ND was working on a new IP, but couldn't say much due to NDA's.

- There was a picture of the developer that was AI generated. Had issues with the glasses.
- The person did not appear to actually exist. Was mentioned as being credited in Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock and yet did not exist on any of those credits.
- The timeline didn't make any sense. They worked on Red Dead Redemption, left to work on Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite... despite Bioshock coming out years earlier than RDR.

Pretty amazing to live in a time when AI generated rumors can exist...

i wouldn't exactly describe that as amazing.

Firesprite job description mentions they're working on only two games currently.

Another Firesprite job description says they're at over 200 employees. Which is quite a bit lower than before. Curious if the Action Shooter led to a lot of layoffs/turnover. Or maybe Horizon finishing did.

Could be out of date or they've decided to focus on two games which is wise. Most studios struggle to release 1 game every couple of years so it seemed crazy to me Firesprite would do 3. They still have quite a lot of jobs available so they've probably restructured around the two games now Horizon VR is out.

Altogether probably in the range of 20-25 games in the works at the moment.

You forgot Haven lol. I am fairly confident in Housemarque, Bluepoint and Bend delivering. I think the wildcards are the British studios. I am more confident in Firesprite than London and Media Molecule for some season.

MM will knock it out of the park if they just focus on making something people want instead of a game engine that makes games that can't be monetized....

The strange thing is, so did Sony. They're still not on the PlayStation studios page.

I added in Haven, Bungie, Savage Game Studios (which was originally an intentional decision to exclude the latter two, but ah why not)

London Studio is in such a weird place.
They seem to be getting downsized over time, and yet they're still getting put on stuff that seems more experimental.

I'm not sure how to feel about MM. They were amazing during the PS3 era, and then they literally spent like 7 years getting Dreams out the door, and then not having it go like anywhere.

Horizon

Yeah Media Molecule and London studio need to add something to the PS library this gen. I really feel like every studio needs to add something they cannot afford to keep relying on the big 4 all the time.
