So that means every single microsoft game will be on switch, not just cod?

Could just be streaming I guess.

the-pi-guy

Would Microsoft be willing to bring all their games to PlayStation and Nintendo to make the deal go through?

I actually could see that. They want to move everything to gamepass anyway, so it's a pretty small sacrifice assuming it leads to playstation gamepass in the future.

That always sounded like what MS's end goal was with gamepass anyway.  Just lately this deal has made them seem vindictive against sony.

if MS bring all their titles to playstation then i can support them taking ownership of activision.   would basically be them transitioning to being a 3rd party in the console space.

>Today's Nintendo deal relates to current and future Xbox titles for now, and then Activision Blizzard games if the buyout is included, Smith says.
Welllllll, this might be a typo.

kitler53

lol, if it looks too good to be true then it probably is.

The tweet itself says Xbox games, but then the PR image just says CoD.

kitler53

than it's just CoD.   that image is far more prepared than the tweet.   ...or if the tweet was prepared it was probably intentional FUD.

Sure seems like xbox games just means COD, but they're happy to make it sound like more games too.

I don't think I've ever seen an exec this salty.

This gen's Adam Orth I guess.

and all the twitter responses inflating her ego even more.  Do people not realize she's gonna likely get a multi million dollar payday because of the deal probably.  Of course she wants it to go through.

I hate shame like this. It's so false trying to come off the good guy

It's a little weird to me that when the Zenimax deal was going through, we got wildly cagey answers about their intentions.

Phil Spencer interview

Quote from: Phil SpencerI'm not sitting down with Todd Howard and Robert Altman and planning their future. Because I'm currently not allowed to do that, that would be illegal. Your question is completely inbound, but I get a lot of questions right now: "is this game exclusive? Is this game exclusive?" And right now, that is not my job in regards to ZeniMax. My job is not to sit down and go through their portfolio and dictate what happens.

Phil Spencer practically made it sound illegal for them to really start planning Zenimax's stuff. (I'm sure the distinction here is that he was saying it was illegal for him to be meeting with them to make decisions as if they were acquired. But the fact that he made that connotation is super weird in retrospect.)

Whereas with Activision, they're actively signing agreements with other companies and publicly announcing them, about a property they don't own yet.
