Yup. Absolutely no staying power. Sure, no movie in the past 25 years has stayed longer at #1 than Avatar 2, but those are all fads too!

I'm still surprised but so happy it even got to where it is. I want all the sequels

At one point my best case guess was it ending around 1.8ish billion

Yeah after the first trailer dropped I lowered my hype and was prepared for a sub billion run.

Also so great having all the new fans. I'm shocked at how many people disliked the first yet like this one.

Well did those movies continue earning money in the box office for years? Or did they have a short run with high earnings then drop off quickly? Because those are fads!!

Avatar the way of water is the third biggest movie of all time.

But so is Titanic, depending on which day you look lol.

I'm guessing in the end way of water will pass titanic

Still absolutely insane to be the first director to have 3 movies hit 2 billion and 3 of the top 5 spots of all time

Currently have 398 movies.

I'm a mad man.  (I don't actually own most of them)

How often do you rewatch them?

Only 1 out of 3 movies have been watched all the way through.
Probably 1 in 2 movies have been partially watched.
the top 25 movies have been watched 5 times or more.
top 14 movies have been watched 12 times or more.
top 5 movies have been watched 26 times or more
top 1 movie has been watched 41 times.

Depends what happens with their new Superman movie.  There's a reason why Superman Returns didn't meet expectations and just kind of cancelled everything Superman for a while.  If James Gunn can get the children who go out and subscribe to Disney Plus to go out and enjoy this movie he's making, then everything from then on will be popular like Marvel stuff.  If he can't, then the movie is going to do poorly and they'll can him faster than Zack, considering he's going scorched earth on everything.  A Superman Returns styled movie, is unfortunately boring and his outline sounds a lot like it, just with a younger Clark.

Welp way of water has now passed titanic

I wonder if it will be able to hit 2.3 billion now. It's really close and seems possible

Crazy how people didn't even expect it to hit 2 billion

Also quantumania had a good opening. Will be near 400million after the holiday weekend(for US)

Avatar really blew my prediction out of the water...

Quantumania will not be that high lol. It's only $225 million through Sunday.

edt: lol you got your number from boxofficemojo. They suck nowadays.
