This will flop. I doubt they convince companies that this will improve productivity.

Still reading.

Seems like it is surprisingly good:
QuoteThe rumors were also wrong about the field of view. It's not taller than Quest 2's, but it is noticeably wider – wider than any consumer Oculus headset, in fact.

UploadVR
- Color Passthrough
- $1500
- October 25
- pancake lenses
- full light blockers sold separately

Quote"I was told the headset would last between one and two hours on a single charge, then take around two hours to recharge, either on the dock or with a cable."

I think color pass through is the only thing that really sounds amazing here (and pancake lenses to some extent...). I was expecting this to be a much bigger step up.

PSVR2 might actually be the headset to beat next year.

Color pass through seems better than transparent lenses for augmented reality. 20 years from now things may be different, but today cameras are a pretty perfect solution.

I think this is the price I was expecting, but these are not the specs I was expecting.

+ Pancake lenses are great, from what I recall makes it easier to increase FOV, and are slimmer.
+ Face tracking, Eye tracking
+ Color passthrough
= XR2+, more RAM
= very slightly higher res than Quest 2, lower res than PSVR2 (Edit: I think, I have seen two different non-official specs)
- Mini-Led instead of OLED
- very bad battery life

I was expecting $1500 with a holy cow top of the line VR experience. Instead it doesn't even seem like what a Quest 3 should feel like right now.

Only 90 hz. Crazy odd how some things are amazing and other things are meh.

A very surprising downgrade.
Especially as Quest 2 now has 120Hz as the default.
