I'd never forget something like that, but I can't remember who that somebody was.

Not gonna lie those images stumped me for a minute on which was real and in game.  Then you start looking for real and can tell fairly easily

It's a photo mode in GT7, all the cars in that picture are virtual.

But the rest isn't? How does the game add shadows and reflections?

Apparently?

It sounds like GT6 used 3D models for the whole scene, but that was too time consuming.

I'm not sure how it calculates shadows.

Special cameras collect all of the relevant data I guess.
QuoteUsing cameras developed specifically for the task, created by Polyphony Digital in partnership with Sony Alpha, the team captures 3D lighting data from the places it photographs — from significant monuments, to beauty spots, race tracks, and even industrial buildings.

Summary stolen from Era

Quote5 new cars (already announced)
- Nurburgring Endurance layouts
- A few new events
- 2 new extra menus
- Adjusted times for Missions, Licenses and Circuit Experiences to reflect the physics changes
- 120hz + VRR support (It's unclear, but I'm guessing it won't be a 120FPS mode and just unlocked performance for the regular mode)

Quote120FPS Support (PlayStation 5 Only)
Gran Turismo 7 will support up to 120FPS with the latest 1.31 Update. PS5 and display capable of 120 Hz output required

Sounds like a full 120hz mode from this.
