How premium can the chat be if there's so few people to chat? I can chat with myself for free. :'(

SLS is undergoing a wet dress rehearsal. If we're lucky this rocket could actually launch this summer!

Things are shaping up nicely for our return to the Moon.

SLS needs to be cancelled after Artemis 3. It's a super expensive rocket with an ever shrinking manifest. Falcon Heavy has already taken over most cargo missions and starship can take over crew missions once it proves itself.

The space shuttle looked cool but it shackled NASA to low Earth orbit for decades. We are finally free of it's tyranny yet regular SLS launches could plunge us back into the same cycle. One Moon landing per year at $4 billion is just not sustainable in a healthy way. Other programs would continue to be underfunded and progress would be very slow.

It's hard to overstate just how horrible the space shuttle was. Most casual people remember it fondly but that'll quickly change over the coming decades.

It had lofty goals and tried to revolutionize space flight yet had America stuck with the existing Saturn V and Saturn 1B, we'd probably have a colony on Mars right now and saved billions.

The space shuttle really needed major revisions to bring down the cost and increase safety. For example the shuttle could have been mounted backwards to the orange fuel tank to protect itself from ice/foam hitting reentry tiles. Instead only minor revisions were made and the launch industry stagnated.

The dream of the space shuttle is now finally coming true thanks to SpaceX. Falcon 9 has achieved every goal of the shuttle (except recovery of satellites). Just a few months ago Falcon 9 reached more launches than the space shuttle and Dragon has spent more combined days in space than the shuttle. It'll still be a few years before SpaceX beats the ~800 people launched.

Amazon signs rocket deal with Blue Origin, Arianespace, ULA for Project Kuiper internet satellites

An image of three rockets launched outside of the Earth's atmosphere. They have logos on them including the Amazon logo, the Blue Origin logo, the ULA logo, and the Arianspace logo.

Amazing last chance for ULA to compete with SpaceX. Hopefully they can use these contracts to build a future compatible with starship.

First time ever that 2 independent crew vehicles have been on launch pads together.

*SLS will not launch a crew this time. It doesn't even have life support atm but it's still cool.
