Fishing mini games, yay or nay?

I dont care for them. Put them in the game I dont mind, but dobt force it to be a part of completing a game.

I didnt mind it in RDR2 because the only story section that required me to fish was short and if I remember correctly I didnt even have to do good, so I didnt have to repeat it

I don't take issue with fishing mini games, but it's also not something I really think about.

It's not something I would do unless there was some kind of good bonus.
There was a PS2 game that I played where you could get fish and trade them for weapon gems.

I don't hate it, but it's not the kind of activity I seek out in a peaceful scenario.

so i'll give you two conflicting opinions.

i like games (especially in the adventure/rpg genres) having mini games as something to do that are not strictly required.   GWENT is a great example.

...but i don't care for fishing.   i've never played an engaging fishing mini-game.
