is that implying 3 projects?  TLOU part 3, new IP, and MP project: hopefully!!

And holy cow that's a lot of openings.  They are really scaling up.

I think:
Bend Studio (1) - Open world game
Bluepoint Games (1) - ???
Firesprite (4) - MP shooter, narrative adventure, TM, Horizon CotM
Guerrilla Games (2) - Horizon, MP title
Housemarque (1) - ???
Insomniac Games (3+) - Wolverine, Spiderman 2, Multiplayer title
London Studio (1) - multiplayer title
Media Molecule (1) - Dreams
Naughty Dog (3) - TLOU Remake, Factions, ???
Pixelopus (1) - small title with Sony pictures
Polyphony Digital (1) - GT7
San Diego Studio (1) - MLB The Show
Santa Monica Studio (2) - God of War, Cory Barlog IP
Sucker Punch Productions (1) - ??? (Probably GoT)
Team Asobi (1) - ??? (Probably Astrobot VR)

So about 24 games at least.
I bet they are also working on something as well:
Valkyrie Entertainment (1) - small title ???
Nixxes Software (1) - small title ???

So overall, PlayStation probably has 26 games, plus I strongly believe Insomniac is working on a small VR title.

so they way you're writing it out,.. the only games being made for VR is Asobi's game, horizon CotM, and maybe something from insomiac.

the way i see it is that can't be true.  psvr 2 will flop so hard without solid support and that either means a few exclusives or some of the big 2D titles need to also be VR titles. so either your wishlist is wrong or sony has even more development hidden away somewhere or psvr2 is being sent out to die.

personally, since we were all surprised to learn ND has 3 titles in the works,.. i think sony probably has another 10-ish games beyond your list that are VR centric like the horizon CotM.   my initial guesses are:
1. asobi probably has multiple titles.  i agree about astrobot but i'll bet they have another 1-2 in the works plus a remaster of the original astrobot.
2. pixelOpus probably has multiple titles and those titles are probably VR.  they are a very "experimental" studio so i think it makes sense to put them on VR.
3. i agree that insomiac has something VR in in the works.   I'll also wager their 3 previous VR games are getting ported if legal isn't an obstruction to that.
4. beyond horizon,.. firesprite's other titles are probably VR too other than TM.
5. GT has a VR release in the works.  seems obvious after sport supported it.
6. london studios is on VR as well.  I think they have 2-3 titles as well plus a remaster of blood and truth.
7. GG probably has 1-2 VR titles as well coming specifically from Cambridge.    it's been a really long time since Rigs which makes me think they already finished one and moved onto another.

Sony killed that studio.

My list of 24 is just what we know for sure from job listings, announcements.

Ummm...
Cambridge was shut down in 2017.

London Studio isn't that big anymore.  They shrunk a lot last gen. People are expecting that their multiplayer title is PlayStation home for VR.  They are like a third the size of Santa Monica.

It's not impossible for them to have 2 games, but it's not a given.

More likely GT7 will be updated with VR support. Not a separate game. Similar for some of these other titles, they are more likely to have a VR mode, than a separate VR game.

1. Its possible, but Team Asobi is a smaller team. I am sure they are undergoing a lot of growth though.

2. PixelOpus is only like 15 people, and they have said they like being small.

I would also expect Sony to make a number of smaller acquisitions to bolster their VR and single player games.

QuoteThe trick: Haven's main financial backer is the Sony Group. The Japanese giant asked Raymond and her team to submit three blockbuster game projects, and then fund the development of the one deemed best.

QuoteAll that is known about the new game is that it will be a persistent, scalable online environment accessible through a PC or PlayStation console, much like another popular Montreal-based online game, but produced by Ubisoft, called Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege. The action promises to be quite different from that first-person shooter, given Haven Studios' mission to promote inclusion and caring.

QuoteThe Montreal-based publisher is expected to confirm a collaboration with the PS5's main architect, California-based designer Mark Cerny, in the near future. The goal is to have Haven's programmers benefit from his expertise to better exploit the mechanics that hum under the hood of the PS5.

"Our ambition will be to push the technical capabilities of the console further," says Jade Raymond, who herself began her career in video games at Sony. "We will have the opportunity to work with people at Sony who are among the best in the world at what they do. This will allow us to create games of the highest quality," adds Paola Jouyaux.

I hope it's good.

jade has had some tough breaks and I'd love to see her at the helm of a runaway success.

Could Twisted metal be their "dark narrative driven project"?

I mean it is a dark game and it does have a story. I really hope it isn't what this is.

But this studio has in development

Horizon call of the mountain
A Multiplayer game
Twisted Metal
And perhaps a new Dark narrative game if it isn't TM.

Thats a lot.

I would just keep in mind they're 4x bigger than Housemarque, and they're growing fast.  I would not be surprised if they were actually closer to 350 people now, with how many job listings they keep posting and how many new hires they announce.

I do worry though, that they seem to be built with the express purpose of just making lots of games. Like, throw everything at the wall, and see what ends up being good.

Best case scenario, they might end up being Europe's Insomniac Games.

Yeah usually studios have a hard time keeping multiple projects in development in this day and age. Even studios like ND and CDPR suffered with it.

Hopefully they can manage because a studio like this would be a huge benefit for Sony and for us PS gamers. It will also be nice to get some new IP because most of  the big PS studios now are working on sequels after building successful IP last gen.

The problem for those two tended to be that one team would absorb the other, especially because that's easier than hiring on more people.

Firesprite seems to be having an easy time hiring more people, and they seem like they're practically being built from the ground up to be a multi development studio.

They've also had these games in development for at least a few years.
The Horizon game started in 2018 or so.
The Narrative Adventure game probably started in late 2020.
I think the Action Shooter is around that old.

They don't seem to be having any trouble with one game absorbing the others.

I'm less worried that the games won't be made, and more worried they'll end up being mediocre.
