3 noteworthy announcements

DerNebel

Meh.

That Square Enix tactical RPG looked kinda interesting.

Xevross

there wasn't much for me there. Octopath Tactics was probably most interesting. Splatoon 3 looked fun before they showed off generic splatoon multi, perhaps it could have a good SP campaign. Mario Golf looks great but we'll see

It looks like another dire year for Nintendo's software output. Unless BOTW2 or something else randomly gets announce for later this year

They said they would hopefully have "more to share later this year" on BOTW2, which doesn't sound like release to me.

But don't worry they still have some other 3D Zeldas they can simply repackage and sell to people for $60 again.

Lol I want to get Skyward Sword but if its $60, which of course it will be, then idk.

Also only Nintendo can stick "HD" on a game title in 2021 and think that's a thing to be proud about. You made an old game run in HD? Wow, well done!

One more hottake, it must always be bad to be a nintendo only gamer but especially bad right now. You miss out on the majority of games, the ones you do get are usually late and/or look awful and out of date or are a lower scope title like an indie that runs fine. And on top of that Nintendo themselves go through dry patches, like 2020-2021 release slate looks dire from a Nintendo first party perspective.

It always pays to have multiple gaming systems, but if I was in a situation where I could only afford/ use one, Nintendo would be my last choice, even below Xbox.

nice.  skyward sword has a non-motion control option.

i never liked the look of splatoon but i'm surprised they are putting a sequel on switch and not waiting for the next hardware.   split userbase is going to hurt both games.

...if you asked me yesterday i would have told you i was expecting the wind waker game to be ported up.  so there is still that.  xD

remember when the narrative was that switch, due to a combined console/mobile platform, would mean an end to nintendo dry spells?   those were good times...

Skyward Sword HD is $60. $60 for an up-res and motion control remapping. The game never was $60 in its first release.

fudge off Nintendo. I'm exactly your target audience for this, Aonuma was talking to me at the end there, but I ain't paying $60 for basic BC work that other companies are doing for free. Daylight robbery, as they say where I'm from.

Well yes the bar for Nintendo is firmly placed on the floor, they basically can't disappoint their fanbase.

Aonuma: Xevross, we are bringing Skyward Sword to Switch.

I do remember that part of the conference.
