They're probably happy they delayed halo now. Supply is so bad that it wouldn't have mattered for launch. When Halo launches they should be able to have more supply, plus the game will be better for the delay

100+ critic reviews on open critic a good baseline for "big?" I think with the drought, xbox will be pushing the definition of big as well.

People thought it was a new game at the xbox showcase. I sure think it's being pushed as big even though it has failed to gain traction in the past.

ebb software has 10 employees.   if this counts as "big" then kena must be massive since ember labs has 14 employees...

scorn is not a big game by any metric.   it's a small indie project.

That's not how any of this works lol.

Devs use support studios and contract out work. Comparing employee counts to determine the dev cost of a game is pointless.


Also I'm using big to refer to how much the public cares, not what the bean counters think. This disclaimer has been in the op this whole time!

so when the game fails to reach 500k units sold we can assuredly say the public did not care for this game...

da duck dude, point to any metric by which this game is big.    even on gaming enthusiast sites like resetera this game is at best a meh in the buzz being generated.   hell, i'm pretty sure this thread accounts for at least 50% of the internet discussion this game has had today....

I mean if the game comes out and sucks it won't sell as much, regardless of how big it was going into launch. That's why I was thinking quantity of review scores.

Youtube metrics are big.

650k+ views on the xbox channel for each video. Each video also has reuploads with hundreds of thousands of views as well.

Just comparing their "reveal" trailers at the series x event...

This is not to say it's a bigger game than The Medium since it's just the one channel, it's also not to say both games are huge, but from my experience both Scorn and The Medium had similar interest leading up to the series x launch.

Like speaking of resetera, both reveal threads had similar post counts.

none of those numbers are "big".

and i checked,.  the last time resetera had anything to say about scorn was in october when the 13 minute gameplay video was released.  impressions were generally not very good.
 - no hype among gamers
 - small development team/budget by an indie developer
 - no marketing push
 - terrible youtube views
 - probably going to be a bad game with bad metacritic scores.

....by no metric is this a big release.
