Sony: No New PSVR Games On PS5, Hitman, NMS VR Need PS4

If you buy the PS5 versions of Hitman 3 or No Man's Sky in the coming months, you won't have access to either game's PSVR support found in their PS4 versions, as the company has not announced PSVR games on PS5.

On the subject of Hitman 3, a Sony spokesperson told UploadVR via email that you'll need the PS4 version of Hitman 3 to play it in VR since the PSVR operates as a backward compatible device. The representative then went on to clarify, "We have not announced PS5 titles for PS VR."

The article goes further that PS5 games are not supported on the headset. So you have to play the PS4 versions.

so either sony is abandoning vr or they are prepping to launch psvr 2.

Interestingly a dev on Era who doesn't tend to chime in about VR, mentioned it is the ladder.

to me if feels obvious.   psvr won't let you view any content over 720p.   doesn't make sense to support it on ps5 that's suppose to be a 4k.   the next psvr will probably be 1440p and a BC breaking design on controllers (as you should have noticed no light bars on the dual sense).  doesn't really make sense to even try and promote BC with the psvr hardware on ps5 beyond ps4 BC games.

i've given it some though and i think i'm just not going to hook up my psvr to my ps5.  i'll keep it on ps4 so I don't have to mess around with plugging the pass though box in and out.
