I think the bigger effect is that people who have both an Xbox and PS5 will be more likely to buy on PS5.  

But even then this makes no sense.

It's about a) getting people who could choose between multiple platforms to go with the PS version and b) also making CoD people more inclined to pick up a PS5 as their next console.

I naturally don't have any numbers to back this up, but these companies will have them and the fact that these deals keep happening, should tip us off that they have to doing what they're supposed to.
