Additionally, we know that the PS4 community will transition to PS5 at different times, and we're happy to announce PS4 versions of some of our exclusives. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy A Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4. While these three games were designed to take advantage of PS5 and its unique next-gen features like the ultra-high-speed SSD and DualSense controller, PS4 owners will also be able to enjoy these experiences when they launch. The PS4 digital versions of launch games include a free upgrade on both PS5 consoles, while the PS4 disc versions of these games include a free upgrade on the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc drive.

Its all very odd. Anyways two cross gen games at launch and one later is pretty okay from Sony. Next year they have GT7, R&C and GOW to sell the PS5 which is still a lot better than PS4's first year.

It could really benefit from the SSD for world changes.

Wonder if that means no fast mounts, or hopefully the PS4 version is developed separately and just lacks gameplay features as needed.

Yeah, I mean I assume a lot of the work for the game started on PS4 but still. I guess they do actually care more about selling copies for these early games than their console selling power. Or they don't think it'll be impacted by this.

I wonder what this means for its launch date though. Are they planning to launch a cross gen game in late 2021? I kinda doubt it honestly.

I do not understand how I am seemingly the only developer that wanted to capitalize on the hunger for a true next gen experience. Sony could have these ports release after the fact (like resogun) and everyone wouldn't know the wiser.

Seriously, the internet would be ablaze hyping the PS5 up right now, if it wasn't for all this dumb messaging. The only real negative I see (though I know that that's a big one for many) is the game price hike. The launch lineup actually looks really strong even considering the cross gen stuff and year 1 sounds insane, but for some reason they didn't even mention that in the fudgy event.

Why didn't they just announce Spider-Man, Horizon and Sackboy as cross gen in June? For a stupid temporary "Gotcha"-moment against MS? What the hell is going on with Demon's Souls? And why are they being so dang vague about the pre-orders??? Starting tomorrow at select retailers, Are you kidding me? Give me a proper time and the names of the retailers. I have to work tomorrow FFS

I genuinely wouldn't have believed this, since I was pretty set on trying to get a PS5 on Day 1, but right now I'm honestly so annoyed and confused that I might just wait and get one next year.
