Delaying them would have probably been smart if that ended up being the case.

No way it'd go up by that much though. Manufacturing cost for a console is like $10, shipping is probably not too much more than that per console. Even doubling the costs would be less than $50 increase.

I hope that DualSense news is not all there is this month.  

I'm not sure what to expect from Sony.
I could see them dropping something for Gamescom. Just doing their own thing.

Or I could see them waiting for MS.

During the peak of the pandemic for manufacturing in China.  

I am sure they could have still made the consoles and it would have costed that much.

But at that point I'd be 100% certain they would rather try delay the system than try launching at that price.

Well I said that because we already heard from Bloomberg that covid was driving BOM up to $450, so $699 would be absolutely absurd unless costs of manufacturing and shipping were astronomical. We already knew the impact from covid and it wasn't that bad.

In other news, RE8 will most likely be great, RE4 is in a bit of a worrying position right now, Silent Hill is still in dev, something Shenmue related will be revealed in 1-2 weeks, a PS5 event first half of September, Monster Hunter Switch is being revealed soon, have a good day

Dusk thinks there'll be a PS5 event in the first half of september. He added this in the era thread:

This is the one part I'm a bit worried about sharing the PS5 thing being in the first half of the month. For the record I know this and am not making up that they're gearing up to do a PS5 event then, but I can see a scenario September is going to become bumper cars with the companies shifting around each other's dates. I do think due to console stuff Sony and Microsoft will take priority though.

Dusk does have very solid capcom inside info which has been proved, he's just a terrible insider with trying to guess stuff based off small snippets of things he's heard about things he doesn't really know about. So its hard to give a value to what he is saying. Like the PS5 struggling with 4K stuff and him saying the real possibility that PS5 will be weaker and more expensive, I think he's heard that on some games PS5 struggles with 4K where Series X doesn't which makes sense considering SX has the 2TF advantage and these games won't be optimised yet, and the price thing was probably just his pure conjecture but he has no idea how to properly give out information and opinions as an insider.

Probably his sources at capcom are expecting to be ready to put something into a sony show. But this is stull he can easily backtrack on and there's plenty of other rumors about.
