Rumour: All Xbox One consoles now seem "Discontinued" at retail by Microsoft, making room for Next-Gen only (Series X, Series S?) | ResetEra

QuoteAs noticed in other topics, and considering this may be worth its own thread, it seems that all regular:

Xbox One S
Xbox One S (All Digital)
Xbox One X

are now being officially Discontinued by Microsoft.
Only third-party bundles (as Cyberpunk 2077 one) are still being refilled.

And this not only from e-commerce websites like Amazon, but also from physical retails (e.g. Target):

Apparently current inventory is already being cleared up, making room for Series X (and Series S?) only.
This already happening in July also seems a bit early, considering the "Holydays 2020" release target for the new systems.

Are they anticipating this phase due to Covid-19 increased demand (and slower logistics) or can we expect "surprise announcements" fairly soon? :)

lolz.   well series s must really be $300 or less or MS just really hates being in the console market.

I'm skeptical of this just like I was skeptical of lockhart existing. It doesn't make sense from the outside looking in.

Who knows.  Maybe they're just evaluating inventory since they're shutting stores down.  Probably have a new sku on the way to unify the Xbox Ones.

So apparently MS was just changing SKU numbers.  Weird how much traction this got on Era for such a small thing.

It never really made sense lol. Maybe they will be doing a really fast transition but I don't think that could happen pre launch.

Microsoft discontinues Xbox One X and Xbox One S digital edition ahead of Series X launch - The Verge

QuoteMicrosoft is officially halting production of its Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition consoles. "As we ramp into the future with Xbox Series X, we're taking the natural step of stopping production on Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition," says a Microsoft spokesperson in a statement to The Verge. "Xbox One S will continue to be manufactured and sold globally."

I don't think it was actually a main MS person that denied it.

Makes sense, since X is way too expensive comparatively. Does this mean they'll bring a digital version too?

Lockhart is supposed to be digital.
I think there was a rumor for a digital Series X though.
