A lot of people are pointing to the PSVR as a similar look. 

But it also seems unlikely that this will be tracked in PSVR 2.  Easy to occlude, wouldn't really improve on the tracking.

Think the official release controller needs a bit more contrast.  But overall great looking controller.

The more I see it the more I'm convinced Sony designed this with custom designs and different colours in mind. The controller suits these different designs so well and is so easily customised to look really good, way more than any controller in the past. Perhaps they're going to be selling a lot more variants or even skins as a way of making money. White is the default because its the easiest base colour to put new skins/ stickers on....

definitely, and it's about time someone realized there is a healthy market for people wanting to customize their controllers.   this gen i bought a white one just so i wouldn't confuse it for my black one when i comes time to know which one to use and which one to charge.
