That was a really short clip but it looked like the game's parallax was framerate limited to match the hand drawn animations. Kinda cool if that was what was happening.

yup and the choice to use a ton of Low Roar in the game was amazing.  Love them

I wasn't sure if DS wouldn't win because Low Roar wasn't original for the game but it worked so so well 99% of the time.
