87. Great reviews, a bit better than I was expecting. Looking forward to experiencing this for the first time tomorrow!

PS why doesn't this thread have a logo like the PS and Xbox ones?
i watched the digital foundry review.  it looks like they did a great job,..  "reimagining" this game.  not sure what world to use because i wouldn't call this a remaster.

Remake?

With Ratchet and Clank, Crash, and FF7, I think we are entering an age of rebuilding old games with modern conventions.

Yeah this game is basically the definiton of a remake and I had never seen anyone even try and question that.

Crash remakes have been fantastic, this is also a fantastic remake from what people are saying. FF7 is shaping up to be fantastic too by the looks of it. As a guy who's too young to have played a lot of these games when they first came out I'm all for this trend carrying on.

I fully agree.

Games are a completely different industry than movies and remakes work so well here. Instead of them coming from a lack of ideas, they come from more technical/nostalgic reasons.

Finihed Link's Awakening. Decent game, ended up using a guide for the 7th dungeon because my god was that a slog. Horrible game design involving way too much backtracking and tripping yourself over, at least by 2019 standards. I googled when I was stuck at a few points in the 8th dungeon and just before it as well. Given the great review scores and the heaps of praise this game gets I thought I was an outlier but my exact thoughts on the game are being echoed by quite a lot of people in the Era OT. And from what others are saying, I guess that's gonna be my first and last 2D zelda, since these things that I disliked the most seem to be the main traits of 2D Zelda games.

Thanks to its gorgeous looks, charming atmosphere, amazing soundtrack and fun earlier dungeons I think I'll give it about a 7/10. Apparently the story was supposed to be emotional so I was hoping the ending would make me feel really positive about the game but eh... it was an ok story at best and the ending was just exactly what you'd been expecting to happen since halfway through the game. Well whatever, it was a fun enough ~10 hours and at least I've experienced 2D Zelda now.

All the gen 8 pokemon are leaking and its better than my wildest dreams. So many new pokemon and so many look awesome. Super hyped!

Spoiler for Number of pokemon:
Seems like 400 pokemon are in regular dex (confirmed), then total in the extended dex that you unlock after beating the game is 632 (unconfirmed). So 632 pokemon made the cut, and around 300 missed out. Seems like around 100 or maybe even more totally new pokemon too.

I think I will get Luigi's Mansion 3. I loved the first one.

Eesh, pokemon fans really aren't happy. About 63% of all pokemon haven't made the sword shield cut (including the new pokemon) and the list of completely new pokemon is actually the second lowest ever.

I never played them but I'm hearing such great things I think I'm gonna pick it up as well.

Spoiler for Supposed Leaked List from ERA:

I know most people aren't going to care too much.
But filling up the Pokedex was a big part of why I would play the game.  I liked collecting, especially since it's much more meaningful than pretty much any other collectathon.

Looking at the list, makes me really disappointed with the new titles.

But, I also really want to play the previous games....

Well to be fair, 400 pokemon is actually a rather large amount in terms of a regional dex, I think its the 3rd largest. So in terms of collecting them all then there's actually more to collect here than most pokemon games, its just that if you wanted to transfer lots of pokemon in from the bank then you can't.

nnodley

i've been really wanting to get a 3ds so i can play some of the older games

Xevross

I pretty much got a 3DS just for pokemon and mario kart, and it was well worth it for me.
