I mean sonic in a film as a concept is bad. This however looks like a good execution, Jim Carrey was born for that role lol

Quote from: Xevross on Apr 30, 2019, 11:57 AMInfinity War did $60.3M overseas on its first monday. Endgame weekend was up 39.6% from IW in like-for-like markets, so we're looking for $84.2M overseas figure today to match IW drop. That's not counting China or Russia for Endgame which came in at $19m and $7m respectively, so $110.2M+ overseas total for Monday is the golden ticket... here's hoping.

shame if it does that then that's a ~$150M monday worldwide, what the actual fudge. Pretty sure best Monday WW right now is Infinity War's $85M first monday.

Also that $7m opening day in Russia for Endgame is great by the way, +50% on Infinity War. And that's the last market to launch for Endgame.
$82.2M overseas for Endgame, $55.8M not counting Russia or China. I totally forgot that labor day was a day earlier for IW which really inflated its monday overseas numbers. Hard to judge how good this is then. Apparently IW monday final OS number was $55.2M, so this is just a smidge better. I guess we'll see what Tuesday numbers bring.

Infinity War went $55.2M Mon, $64.5M Tue, $32.2M Wed with labour day landing on tuesday, boosting mon and tue. I guess it'll be useful to compare Endgame's total for these 3 days with IW total. Also can compare Endgame's eventual Thursday number to that Wednesday for IW, both are day after labour day and wed and thurs are usually pretty close to each other in BO.

Domestic side is really great, came in low end at $36.7M which is -59%.

WW up to $1.34B, into the top 10 all time already.

So for me going forward overseas minus china and russia of $55.8M (yesterday's estimate), $64M, $88M, $45M would be a good week for Endgame. Let's see how that goes! Might be hard considering labour day isn't everywhere though.

China has a big holiday this week so its hard to compare directly to IW, we just want final total to be $600M+ to match IW legs for Avatar hunting, so we just gotta see how this next week goes. DOM is super easy to track, just hope the % drops and gains keep being better than IW.

Lol, best thing about Endgame's monday was Indonesia. Endgame's monday matched the previous all time record for OPENING DAY. That's funny.

It looks like a seth rogan film. Not faithful but might make for a better end product.

Endgame $32.9M Dom Tuesday, $105.3M overseas. Now #8 worldwide after 7 days officially, $1.481B total.

China was $38M on tuesday, so $61.5M OS-C,R. Pretty great although I was certainly hoping for more. China wednesday is $75M by the way, third biggest day ever. Absolute monster!

How is Wednesday bigger in China?

nnodley

Pretty insane that 4 of the top 10 grossing movies of all time are Avengers

May 1st is labor day, a holiday for most of the world. It's a huge cinema day in China, they also have Thursday and Friday off this week so numbers will stay fairly big.

Xevross

$183M global Wednesday  :o :o

incl. $25.2M dom which is great, better wed drop than IW. OS-C&R around 80mil, still doing well.

Yeah, looking very likely that Avatar is going down now. Worldwide total of comfortably over $1.5+ after this weekend (not counting China) will confirm that, I think. The more above 1.5b the better. If it falls around or just short of 1.5b then Avatar is gonna be a close call. WW-C total right now is $1.205B, so 1.5b+ should be fairly easy so long as it keeps following Infinity War. Friday jump is gonna be very important.

Saw Aquaman. Despite lots of horrible acting I enjoyed it a fair amount. Looked a lot better than it did in the trailers. Some good plot elements too.

Yeah its a very enjoyable film.

Rewatched Endgame again, still love it although its definitely slower to get through than IW.

Endgame heading for $21.5M thursday, first weak day. Hopefully friday jump is better than IW.

Watched ant-man and it was pretty good. A bit small in scale (pun not intended) but enjoyable. Their romance and overall character development felt a bit rushed
