ah must have missed that.

Right, lol.

I saw the same director will direct episode 5. Sounds like the last major battle happens then

Yeah. Episode 3 was brought down by the writing, Sapochnik's direction was still phenomenal. I hope episode 5 delivers. After this though I'm not gonna get too hyped or get my hopes for anything special. Not going to expect any twists or turns, just sit and relax and enjoy the spectacle.

This absolutely incredible piece of music was by far the best thing to come out of this episode. Ramin Djawadi and Miguel Sapochnik always deliver spectacularly when they work together, this beats light of the seven as my new favourite GoT music piece.

Quote from: Dr. Pezus on Apr 21, 2019, 11:37 PMInteresting. I thought episode 1 was average at best tbh. I fear that this season will be too predictable and Hollywood compared to what was more based on the books.
I have to say I called it!
Quote from: Dr. Pezus on Apr 28, 2019, 04:31 PMHaha I doubt it. But it'll no doubt be very good. People will die
And again!

Yep, you basically did.

Love AJ for doing this. Watched his review before and agreed completely, now he slept on it and wants a rant. Got my popcorn!

Legend

Death doesn't matter anymore. With only a few episodes left, it's just impossible to have anything like in the past.

The battle should have had more named people die because it was silly how the show prsented it. However it would suck way more if the show really killed everyone and the last three episodes had nothing in them.

Just saw this on reddit and lol'd:

GRRM: This fan favourite character Oberyn Martell is this amazing guy with a fully developed backstory, he is going to save our beloved Tyrion, look at how he's beating the mountain in single combat, one of the most feared fighters in the seven kingdoms, and someone who is heavily influential upon Oberyns character arc. Oops looks like his own character flaws have resulted in a sudden and gruesome death and tyrion is iced. No heroic death here just tragedy.

D&D: lyanna was meant to be a one scene character but she became such a fan favourite we kept giving her more and more and eventually gave her this scene that looks like terrible cgi and is entirely forced where she singlehandedly kills a wight giant, so we can send her off in a heroic way.

Seriously D&D give away how dumb they are in all their interviews. They're straight up just admitting they do everything for the cool factor, or a surprise. That's all they think about. They don't give a single shame about all the character arcs and all the build up that came before, just do something because its COOOOOOL

That scene was very impressive though. Not shaming CGI. Did you watch the making of?

The reaction from normal people after the episode is shock quite often, at least in rl and on my fb lol

Well I disagree with them on the shaming CGI for sure but it was an awful scene, one of the things I hated about the episode.

Yes it always is and that's all that D&D are going for now. They're going for the shock compilation videos and the 20 character ERRRRMAGAAWSSHHH #BESTTHINGEVA #ARYAQUEEN tweets and they have no care in the world about any subtlety, or anything else really.

Most of my friends are big GoT fans and we're all super disappointed. The one's who aren't as big fans who don't think about the show as much and are just there for the easy shock factor and kewl moments are the ones who enjoyed the episode. As expected.

I think that Lyanna scene is the perfect divider. There's people who are going "yaaaaaaaaas queen" and loving it, and then there's other people who remember what show we're fudgy watching and are offended by the sheer stupidity of that scene. But the basic people who are very light fans, the ones going yas queen are the ones D&D are writing for now. So fudgy sad, the show got too big for its own good. Would have been miles better if Lyanna just got demolished by that giant in one hit.

I wish episode 2 didn't get my hopes up by having actual good writing, if it was shame as well I could have seen this coming.

Legend

Cool episode. More action than I expected.

Spoiler for Hidden:
Was really getting red wedding vibes at first so I&#39;m glad they didn&#39;t go there. Also looks like Dany needs to die <img src="https://vizioneck.com/forum/Smileys/alienine/cry.png" alt="&#58;&#39;&#40;" title="Cry" class="smiley">

Xevross

Messiest episode ever, I like the plot beats but it was executed so poorly. Characters just not saying shame to each other and camera cutting away just before interesting bits because... reasons.

Sigh... episode 2 really is gonna be the best episode of this final season huh.

Dr. Pezus

It's currently the second lowest rated episode ever of GoT on RT. Total ratings for the season are in freefall too, currently 79% while no other season has gone below 91%. They really went off the rails. Could sense it last season.
