Updating the UK monthly charts now the first day of sales should have kicked in (and maybe more):

#6 Switch Neon                                     (-6)
#34 Switch Neon MK8D + Just Dance  (+15) (has been out of stock the whole time)
#42 PS4 500GB Fifa 19                          (new)
#47 XB1S FH4, Spyro, Extra Controller  (new)
#49 Switch Grey                                     (+8)
#53 Switch MK8D                                  (new)
#62 Switch LG:P Edition                         (+5)
#69 XB1S Forza Horizon 4                     (new)
#79 PS4 500GB RDR2                            (+14)
#87 XB1S Two Controller Edition          (-13)
#91 Switch Mario Odyssey                    (new)
#93 Switch Neon LG:P + JD                   (+46) (has been out of stock the whole time)
#98 XB1S Fortnite Edition                     (new)

On the yearly chart side, Switch neon is still the only console on there but it has jumped from #27 to #12.

Last year NPD:

PS4 ~1.65M
XB1 ~1.4M
Switch ~770k

Note he's only talking about BF week here. So this means PS4 is still on track to match/ be a bit up from last year. XB1 is going to be way down YOY overall, as there's also no X launch. Switch is doing much better all month long, so could well double last year.

I'm gonna say 1.8m PS4, 1.6M switch, 1m XB1 now for the month

I need to hear cyber week sales to say for PS4, if restock isn't good enough then it could be a fairly bad week and might end up being down yoy. And demand for that COD bundle is quite unknown. Switch and XB1 should have a good week though, with Switch keeping up momentum with plentiful stock and XB1 is still on offer for cyber monday week. For now though I think I'd agree with you, except I'd go 1.4M Switch.

I wonder if this is just Walmart smoking some weird shame or if this is going to be a standard cyber monday deal, perhaps without the controller? If its just Walmart then its gonna sell out fast and not really help PS4 too much, I feel.

Xevross

No official word on it yet though, might just be a mistake on tomsguide's part. Even at its current $298 its a great deal, much better than the standard PS4 price.

BananaKing

If that's the standard PS4 deal on cyber Monday then holy shame.

Also I wonder if this says we will get a 199$ December promotion

Xevross

I'm fully onboard team #tomsguidemistake now. Think $298 is the deal price. Still a good deal, wonder how much they have to sell.

Cyber Monday Deal: Gamestop Switch + $50 GC +35 Eshop credit for $299 | ResetEra

QuotePretty sure this beats the Black Friday GS switch deal

Good deal, Switch should have a good week.

Xevross

Yeah seems like the tomsguide person was talking shame, bundle is already sold out. I imagine there was no sale coming and walmart were just waiting for stock to clear at this price. New cod bundle should be coming tomorrow.

NPD Oct 2018: COD: BO4 and RDR2 top the charts, PS4 best selling hardware | Page 17 | ResetEra

Well, that's a shame. It did sound like by how fast it was selling out that stock can't have been that high. I think its safe to say 2M is dead now, just need to see how PS4 does this week to see if it can manage to be up YOY. Benji added he thinks stock of the $199 PS4 was very similar to last year, so its clear Sony has a set amount they want to sell at that price.

Someone on Era said a gamestop employee told them the COD bundle is going to be discounted to $199 straight away but that could be lies/ they got confused, I'm expecting it to start at $299, so there's no cyber monday deal, and then it drops to $249 in December like last year.

If Sony don't do any cyber monday deals then Switch might actually have a shot at November NPD. Speaking of Switch, 1.5M November + 2.0M December would give Switch 6M for the year, much better than PS4 or Xbox have ever done (PS4 record is 5.7M). And I think its probably going to do even better than that!

More clues from Benji: right now PS4 looks slightly down YOY, but if cyber monday week is very good then it can finish up. This is due to early Nov being down (no COD launch, no BF2 bundle) and BF week only slightly up/ flat. So looks like PS4 is heading for around 1.6M again, unless it has a crazy deal this week. If its looking like stock is limited, and PS4 isn't having a great week, it could well be fairly down YOY and be heading for more like 1.5M

Switch is well up YOY and doing very well, but will only beat PS4 if it has an "enormous" cyber monday, which doesn't seem too likely. However, Switch does have CM deals while it seems PS4 does not (and is low on stock), so Switch will probably end up close to PS4, perhaps within 100k if it plays out that way.

No word on xbox, safe to say its having a bog-standard November. Thanks to no X launch it will be well down. X launch was 480k last year, so the S sold 950k, sounds like its slightly down, so maybe S + X this year around a million, perhaps a bit higher with a good CM coming up (its staying $199).

I guess updated NPD prediction with all this information, assuming an average CM week for each console: PS4 1.6M, Switch 1.4M, XB1 1.1M.
