"Pedo" had no real reasoning. It was just the insult Musk came up due to him living in Thailand. Def not cool or warrented.

The larger context is that this person told Musk to shove his minisub up his bottom. Which then made Musk get crazy defensive.

The larger larger context is that there has been targeted attacks against Musk for years since many people are financially invested against him. He fights back against this stuff and called Twitter "meme war land" recently. He really should stop using twitter as much.
