PSP?

Sure its selling less than Wii, that's why I specified recent consoles. Wii was launched over 11 years ago, the Japanese market has changed a lot since then. Plus, lets not pretend that the Wii wasn't an absolute phenomenon when it first launched.

I wouldn't say barely at all. Launch aligned its absolutely smashing the PS4 (almost 3:1) and even just compared over the last year Switch has done much better. Its only recently PS4 has performed comparably thanks to MHW and a few other decent Japan launches. When Switch gets a pokemon game it'll take off, there's not much for the 3DS audience to move over for yet.

PSP Go does exactly what the Switch does (PSP to an extent), except did it 10 (Over 10) years ago.  I'm referring to the Switch barely outselllng the PS4 this year.  Even after Monster Hunter the PS4 is still selling well.

You can plug the PSP into a tv.

I loved that feature. Was so fun to play the games on a big screen.

Was surprised only Vita devkits could do it.

Yep its only 40k ahead so far this year. Again, if it wasn't for MHW PS would have 200k less, maybe even more than that. If pokemon does land this year then Switch will finish easily a million ahead of PS4, maybe even two million.

For sure, but then what?  Its sales are going to go back down.  If the Switches baseline is only 10k higher than the PS4, which is selling pretty poorly compared to the golden years, then I'd be very worried if I was Nintendo.

I'd say it's usually 15-20k higher. Also games will boost it a lot more than PS4. It's selling considerably more now with barely any new games.

Sure its not going all perfectly for them but they don't need to worry much yet. They still have price cuts to use too. I guess we'll see how well it does when the usual handheld franchises/ games come out for it.

That's surprising... also FC5 sales down only 36% MOM yet below GOW, so God of War > 128k for sure, but we already knew it was over 140k anyway

I guess Horizon had really bad initial legs.

Indeed. Bigger second week than UC4 though I think (which did 14-20k iirc) while its first week was lower
