Dang, we weren't sure if BP would make it to 1.3b, and now it's almost halfway from there to 1.4b.
(It's a little over a third, still crazy)
:D

Yeah it's gonna make it to 1.35 now probably. Insane performance for a debut film. Almost as much as Age of Ultron.

Also, IW has already made more than Iron Man 1, 2, Hulk, Thor 1, 2, Cap 1, 2, Ant Man and Doctor Strange at the box office worldwide.

Apparently China pre-sales of Infinity War are so good its locked to open at $200m+ there. That's insane. This might actually beat TFA worldwide if it keeps this up.

Edit: oh I guess context is needed. The current record China opening is $187m (Monster Hunt 2), with Fast 7 and 8 only a few million behind that. Age of Ultron managed $155m opening week. Black Panther got $105m lifetime.

I have seen Infinity War twice which I never do, the funniest part is my fiancee was the driving factor behind this. Her friend has seen it 5 times already! It is a immensely enjoyable and watchable film you can honestly watch any time.

It's dropped quite a bit on RT.

Critic score doesn't matter. WOM amongst fans/ general audience is fantastic. The RT audience score is more important, and that's at 92%.

I've seen it 3 times now and I'd watch it more if I wasn't trying to save money. I love it!

Domestic legs are looking good. From the true friday, the percentage change every day has been better than The Avengers so far (most comparable film), which is an early sign that legs are going to be at least around as good as Avengers. If it did manage to match Avenger's legs it would reach an incredible $750m+ domestic.

More than $780m, and that's without xevs future telling ability.

You think it'll make more than $780m domestic?  ???

Oh maybe you looked at BOM total. They haven't added Tuesday domestic yet. The actual total is $808m.

This, where do you see this?

This is the future telling ability I was talking about.

Oh, the best place to follow box office is the box office theory forums. The people there find the news and post it quickest, plus they're all knowledgeable and are good at making future predictions/ projections based on numbers so far.

Most importantly though, they have a couple of insiders who post there that have access to all the numbers from every cinema as they come in. Box office mojo and other sites actually get their numbers from these people. Sometimes they drop numbers early, as they can tell where days are heading based on data they have. Like for example Empire City said Saturday would be about $82m 12 hours before $83m was officially announced. The other main insider is called Rth (currently his username is Rthanos)

That's what I was meaning.  I don't read these places, I just check Boxofficemojo.  They still have $784m, which is insane.

Yeah I used to do that. But BOM is just a database really, if you want analysis/ discussion, numbers to be put into context, future projections etc. Then box office theory is the place to go.
