No 3DS version and Square probably realized trying to put a PS4 game on the Switch is a bad idea and far more work than anticipated.

Though I'm assuming Nintendo probably has a contract in place for Dragon Quest on 3DS and most likely have to publish it themselves. Probably think it's not worth the effort and are just waiting for the Switch version.

Switch version was already announced, and it was hoped to launch with the others. However, its been announced as much further down the line.

Wonder if it's a technical thing. Switch is pretty weak but other games have been on 3DS so...
