PS4 took half of all UK physical game sales in 2017 | GamesIndustry.biz

PS4 accounted for 50.2% of physical sales in the UK this year, which is a new record for a single platform. (XB1 was 31.6% this year).

Not even the mighty PS2 managed to reach half of the software sales like that and its crazy to think this is happening in microsoft's second biggest market. PS4 has had an insane year.

Also, playstation exclusives held the #1 spot for 15 weeks of the year, with crash (7 weeks), horizon (2 weeks), FFXII: Zoiac Age, GT Sport, Persona 5, Wipeout OC and Uncharted LL (all 1 week).

Ps4 is a monster in the UK

Amazon would suggest switch would take November and December. Now it was nowhere near accurate for November and probably won't be for December.

I would nearly be certain ps4 will dominate brick and mortar compared to switch. Will xbox also? You'd have to give it a very good chance.

Media Create is out for this past week.
Hardware:
230k Switch
62k PS4
55k 3ds
Software:
Mario 120k(has passed a million)
Splatoon 2 70k
Mario Kart 8D 50k
Breath of the Wild 20k
XC2 12k
Pokken and ARMS 10k

Now in depth analysis:
XC2 showed the lightest drop for a third week at 39%. This must be due to increased stock and holidays. It has now passed XCX with being around 130k without digital. With the season pass and placement in the consoles life(as well as digital) the game will easily become the highest selling game in the series by far.
Pokken is showing strong legs since it's release in September and should outsell the original Wii U by early next year(190k~).
ARMS will break 300k soon which for a low content new fighting IP is great.
Splatoon 2, Mario Kart, and Mario Odyssey continue with large sales. Mario Kart should join the Million club by next week(3 Million sellers for the first 10 months)
Zelda has passed 700k on Switch and has an extremely strong chance of being the first Zelda since Ocarina of Time to past 1 million(including digital and Wii U)

Overall very strong week for a Switch all around. Hopefully next week we can see up to 400k consoles sold(apparently shipments are much larger and frequent through anecdote a so that'll never crazy).

Seriously, why the hell do Nintendo fans keep grasping on to XC2, hoping for it to become this big thing? The game is mediocre as hell.

Switch is a monster :o

Everyone (pretty much everywhere) is mostly only picking up Odyssey, MK8D, Zelda, Splatoon 2 and/or Kingdom Battle with it though. The other games aren't selling well at all for how much HW is moving. Its gonna need some more big games soon to keep this up, although it will probably keep selling well in Japan regardless.

Its not like this is unexpected though. Its not done well in Japan for most of its life.

I mean it's down from last year pretty heavily in the past few weeks.
