Neogaf is in Chaos

For the most part GAF was an okay site.  There's a lot of discussion that isn't happening in very many other places, and the discussions are usually huge and often times developers with actual experience will make posts.
But GAF had some serious issues. I see a fair number of users get attacked for saying things they never said or for not saying something that they felt was implied.  That has even happened to me.  Those things are frustrating, and it was one of the most anxiety ridden days of my life.  I was literally shaking and I even cried.  I got attacked even for  saying things that GAF would agree with, but I didn't say it in the right way.
My last post that day, a few users and a mod responded by saying "you're right but that doesn't mean X". (I don't remember exactly what X was).  It was frustrating and confusing because I never said or implied X.  The absolute worst part about these situations is that usually there is some moderator who takes the side of the attackers and the other gets banned, sometimes permanently.  

I think GAF had a lot of well-intentioned people, but they were so pushy, that those people ended up just causing a lot of harm.  
There are even websites dedicated to that harm.  

A part of me is sad that GAF is gone.  Sad to see a center for news disappear.  Sad to see that incredible discussion disappear. GAF had a culture in and of itself.  One that had a notable effect on the game industry often for the better.

But the rest of me is very happy to see that toxicity gone.  What would be nice is if something better were to come out of the ashes.  
We will have to see.

Well that's what their moderation was doing the entire time they didn't want outside views that want to stay in the Echo chamber they're taking everything that made gaf bad and times it by 10. That's going to be a horrible site

Asians aren't a minority though.  White people are a minority in some countries.  
Really dumb for a worldwide site.  Dumb in general, but it doesn't work for a worldwide site at all.
