True story about my second to last year.
Grades are officially put in every quarter/semester.  
There was a quarter/semester, where I only did a few math assignments and the teacher gave new assignments every day.  So I missed a lot of assignments.

During one quarter(or semester I don't recall.), I missed something like 21 assignments for the class.  Teacher gave me a chance to do the assignments. Did it all the last day or so.  

I learned my lesson though.  My last year, my math class also gave a lot of extra points so it was possible to get over 100%.  

Got 110% my first semester.

I was pretty average.  People knew me but didn't really hang out with a lot of people.  Usually only went out to eat with some friends every once in a while.  I was pretty chubby, didn't do sports, and averaged around a 3.5 GPA.  I wish I was a little more active now that I'm out of college and literally at home all day in front of my computer working.  So I get torn a lot between really wanting to get out and explore and travel more, but gotta make that money and build myself up.

I actually had a really bad GPA in high school because of the homework stuff. 
My first semester at college was even worse though.  Got a 1.333 gpa then. 
Working my way to a 3.5 now.

My cumulative is a 3.4 right now.

I went through a few stages.

In freshman/sophomore year I was a nerdy quiet kid. I had a few good friends and a few not so good friends but that was pretty much it. Was on the tennis team and enjoyed that. Got ok/good grades but had horrible work ethics.

In the second half of high school I was still a nerdy dork but I liked life and everything more, and I kinda transitioned into the person I am today. I was still relatively quiet but I was a lot more social than I used to be. I was still on tennis but I also did business clubs and a hiking club. Took a lot of AP classes and ended with a ~3.7 GPA if I'm remembering it right. I ended up being prom king because I hosted an awkward school popularity contest a few months earlier and one of my friends stuffed the ballot box. My last week of high school was the first time I ever got detention. My senior class was figuring out the senior prank through facebook and the school didn't really know how to handle that, so they just punished everyone who commented online. My friend who posted the initial discussion almost didn't walk at graduation.
