For the number of Switch games I'm interested in to go up, not down.

You must be in a tiny minority then. Sucks for you  :-\

Mario looked great, I'll give you that. But then what?

Xenoblade 2 looked absolutely awful, the voice acting was poor and whoever designed that female main character should be embarrassed.

Yoshi and Kirby looked like typical Nintendo filler games, that they usually announce a couple months before launch. But somehow both are 2018.

Pokemon for Switch announced... with nothing at all to show. Of course there is going to be a Pokemon game for Switch at some point, so why would this obvious announcement garner any points at all?

Metroid Prime 4 was less obvious of course, but the announcement with nothing but a logo and a "Now in Development" was almost equally as worthless.

Fire Emblem Warriors can be dressed up as much as they want, it'll still just be a Musou game.

Mario Rabbids still looks dumb and annoying and while Rocket League is a big announcement, it's still just a port (of a game that I personally don't care about).

After this show I'm interested in one less game for the Switch, that's a pretty awful bottom line for the show.

Yoshi and Kirby -> usually good games, even if they aren't huge titles.

Pokemon for Switch, Metroid Prime 4 -> Two huge games that were confirmed. Although not shown.  We know they are coming, and that's pretty exciting.

Mario Rabbids -> A lot of people here are pretty excited about it, and think it looks great.

Going to have to agree to disagree especially on this.

I was expecting them to talk about literally 2 games.  But they talked about or showed like 10 games in 25 minutes.  Not a bad showing, and gives a lot to look forward to.

Just checked the Neogaf thread and I'm certainly not alone in thinking that the Xenoblade trailer looked bad.

Other than that I don't care about 2D platformers nor about Kirby and Yoshi and I was already on board for Mario Odyssey. I'd actually like to know what you guys saw, that I apparently missed.

"It may not release for more than a year, but we hope you will look forward to it all the same."
So maybe Pokemon for Switch next fall?

Metroid is not nearly as big as the internet makes it sound, but fine whatever. I'm sure as heck not giving them Pokemon. Of course Pokemon was coming, there was quite literally a 0% chance of that not happening at some point in the Switch's life.

what the fudge metroid again!?!?!?!?

It's big for Xev...
And people are going to be excited for it.

Not even close.  The only home system that had a pokemon RPG was the gamecube.  Nothing on the Wii or Wii U.
While Nintendo is treating the Switch as a portable system when its convenient, they seemed to solidify that the 3DS was the system that was still going to be getting the mainstream pokemon games just a week ago.

So, no there was not a 0% chance of it not happening.  Not even close.

I'm honestly not even that excited about Nintendo's stream.  I don't care about Metroid, but it's annoying that you are acting like there's no reason for anyone to be excited for anything that was shown off.  Which is so far from the truth that it's ridiculous.

Legend

GUYS THEY JUST ANNOUNCED a 3DS metroid and are playing it!

Legend

It's a remake FF7R style of the original

Lol, are you kidding me? I'm saying that I found the show to be trash and explained my reasons why.

And regarding the Pokemon Switch game, simply answer me one question: Where the fudge was Gamefreak supposed to go with the mainline Pokemon games after the 3DS went away, if not to the Switch?

as if there was absolutely nothing positive about the show.  That the possibility that a few people enjoyed the show had to be a joke.  Your reasons don't matter to other people, because they don't share the same opinions.  And I'm trying to explain that there were some positives about the show, by giving reasonable possibilities for why the problems you have with the games shown, aren't what other people are seeing.

Nintendo is releasing a new member of the 3DS family next month.  They aren't getting rid of it at the end of this year.  Game freak can support the 3DS for a few more years, at which point Nintendo is likely to release a new portable centric console.

Legend

Xenoblad looked lame but not something I care about.
Yoshi looked like tearaway so that's kinda cool.
Kirby's co-op mechanic is clever.

But yoshi and kirby also just look like standard Nintendo 2d platformers. Nintendo just pumps them out nowadays and they all feel identical, well at least that's my personal impression.

Fire Emblem warriors is just another one of those games. Again not one I personally care about.

Pokemon for switch was awesome mostly because the direct crushed a lot of people's hopes. I don't think a significant amount of people were expecting that announcement today. I only saw it coming because I realised the pokemon direct was needed since Pokken couldn't be announced today.
I'm not even that big of a fan of pokemon but it's a cool announcement.

I'm also not that big of a Metroid fan. I love super metroid but Metroid Prime is so overrated from the last time I played it. Nevertheless, it's an awesome announcement. Every year Nintendo has made it feel like a proper metroid was less and less likely.

This reveal is Shenmue 3 levels for a lot of people.

Loved Odyssey. Really cool they kept that hat mechanic a secret.

9/10
Pretty close with Ubisoft even though I'm personally not hyped for a single thing they showed.
