I could throw in a rant about Sony and release dates and split it up into like 10 posts if you want the post count to go up.

Here's just a teaser:

Who in the world thought that announcing that GT Sport, which was aleady said to launch this year, is going to launch in Fall 2017, was an announcement worth anyones time? (The trailer was pretty dope though).

Sony just announce games way too early. You could take 2 big announcements from each of the last 2 e3's that have gone absolutely nowhere and put them in this conference instead. Then you'd have 3 great shows in a row and wouldn't keep people waiting too long.

Conference was good but nothing amazing. Only slightly better than MS's. The Xbox conference was a 5/10, the PlayStation conference was only a 6/10. I'm not actually sure what 3rd party games shown had exclusivity or if any.

I did love the concept of all the stage effects. That waterfall start was wonderful.

GOW footage confirmed regular PS4!

Also I loved that trailer. The game looked much less cool than the past gameplay, but so much more fun! Loved the knight.

I really just think Sony hit a very particular point where their early announcements caught up to them. Like, at this particular point in time, they're not announcing much because either they need to show people games they announced but haven't shown much of or the other games they have are still a little too early to talk about. I'm thinking PSX this year is going to be what people were hoping Sony's E3 would be. That's a year since we first saw The Last of Us Part 2 and the last we saw of Death Stranding. That's 6 more months to give Sucker Punch. That's two years since the FF7 Remake was last shown in motion. More time for Japan Studio, who we know based on comments from various people at Sony has some stuff they're working on. Plus, things we don't know about just yet.

Yeah, after mulling it over, this conference was a 7/10 while the past two E3s were 9/10s.

There wasn't a whole lot of new content and it was mostly stuff from already announced games. What did save the conference was the pacing and execution of the presentation. Spreading out the 3rd party AAA multiplats was a good idea. Before, Sony would pack all the 3rd party stuff together in one section and that would result in a boring slogfest. The lack of talking also helped the conference flow well.

It did its job, but that was it.

Is dreams dead?

Any hints of news coming later in the week?

Its not looking good for dreams, that's for sure.

Oh also Uncharted looked great! I had no idea it was this big.

Not all of them, but yeah, they did definitely announce a good chunk of their lineup way too early. To be somewhat positive about it, a slower year this time in terms of announcements might make for a better next couple years with games announced also actually being closer to release, since it gives them room to actually work off a couple games. Then again, I see no indication at the moment that Days Gone, Detroit, Spiderman or Dreams are going to be out before next E3 either.

Media Molecule on Twitter: "Good luck to all at #E3 this week! No E3 for us as we are busy tapping away, getting ready to share more about #DreamsPS4 later this year!"

Yep, Uncharted is looking great. Story could be better than Uncharted 4!

I'm loving the negative reception to the shows lack of talking. That's something that I disliked last year and I hope this makes them go back to having more fun shows.

This could have just been uploaded as a playlist on youtube.

Yep. Cutting down on talking is only good to a point, and this year had even less talking.

I think Ubisoft found the perfect balance this year.

I was shocked Aisha Tyler wasn't hosting but it definitely was an improvement! Made the show more about the devs instead of her humor.
