I.think it's already there.
it may be, its hard to tell without europes total numbers.   i wish vgc wasnt such garbage lol

lol same, I'm thinking that its close now and Destiny should do it but if VGChartz numbers are to be believed it will take a bit longer. Of course maybe it will never happen because of that tier 2 countries and China effect :P

Anyone have any idea how big the XB1 Japan launch will be? How's it doing in the charts?

Xbox One will have a decent launch in Japan.  That's about it.

Waiting for VGChartz to adjust PS4 total numbers ... will take some days, weeks or perhaps months ... but not even MS's money can't stop them from updating.

PS4's weekly average since 7m was announced is 176k, according to VGC PS4 just beat that number twice thanks to massive bundles and spent the rest of the time well below. Simply terrible tracking

ethomaz

Well there is nothing to comment until they fixed the numbers.

hmm if they sell 2m in september they'd average 1m a month :O

I've always had my doubts that ioi ever gathered sales data. If so it's on a microscopic form.  In fact, I've called him out numerous times. There is no way he has retailer partners (no chain would partner with an amateur site). He also claimed to gather poll information from consumers. I find that even harder to believe. Polls are usually distributed by another market research firm that collects and organizes the data to their client. I've done hundreds of polls for multiple companies. Usually you can tell what type of research is being gathered. Also, the company's logo usually appears in the poll. I've done numerous Npd polls. Using that type of firm would be ridiculously expensive since they usually pay the person being polled plus the firm.

No, I don't think they gather any data. If they do its by a small retailer in a country (not sure how you'd network to retailers out of country being an amateur)  and polls are conducted by standing on a street corner asking people for a couple minutes of their time. I believe they just use the tactics most companies do to project sales, ordering and costs. That is just using historical sales trends.

He get data from some retail store that he has access in US.

Best case he see 5% of the US sales... it is so little.

Nothing for others places.

Which helps to explain why he is clearly undertracking Europe. I've always found it odd that he constantly puts European PS4 sales below North American sales. Considering that North America is far more competitive while the PS4 pretty much has free reign in Europe it always perplexed me how he figured European PS4 sales were typically lower. One would think that with less competition and a fairly equal base of potential buyers that he would track PS4 sales there as higher. Obviously he has no data for the region.

As far as his North American tracking, my guess is that the store he has access to is in an area that is a lot more competitive between the platforms than most of the country so he mistakenly assumes that his highly limited available numbers represent the big picture.
