All this tells me is that Nintendo fans can't be trusted.  The Switch sits there with a security tag while the PS4 has no tag.

I watched Wrestlemania at my friend's house yesterday.  They're normally a Nintendo family first (they play other consoles but Nintendo is their first choice) and they had no want for the Switch.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands was the UK's best-selling game of March | GamesIndustry.biz

QuoteTom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands was the best-selling boxed game in the UK last month.

The title narrowly beat PlayStation's Horizon: Zero Dawn - although, of course, that was a single-format release. Horizon on PS4 was the best-selling individual SKU of the month.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild had to settle for third spot, although its primary platform had stock shortages throughout the month.
Mass Effect Andromeda sits just behind Zelda, although was only on sale for half the month, while LEGO Worlds at No.5 rounds up an entirely new Top Five.

Good performance from Horizon in the UK and quite poor from Mass Effect. Great month though, all the top 5 came out in March.

That's likely a big part of it.

Niche titles on PS4 selling over 1 million... that is really great.

Pretty great considering the time of year difference.

At this point though, you're only really comparing stock for each console. We'll have to wait a few months to be sure we're looking at demand

The 1 million shipment includes the PC version, but the PS4 version should exceed 1 million eventually. The game is still in the Top 100 hourly rankings on Amazon.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how well the Switch does, or doesn't do....
