Ohhhhh it is called microcode ;) that is why I was confused.... when update the BIOS it contains the last microcode for CPUs.

Yeah, but there's more.  The way Windows does its multi tasking depends on the processor as well.  It's why I wanna see what the Linux benchmarks look like.

Exactly this one (Ryzen)... zero.

The low power APU based on Zen to be launched late this year... maybe 10%.

I don't believe that a custom SoC based on Zen will be ready before 2018 but well there is some chances but AMD didn't show anything based on Zen close to be used on a console yet.

What about next gen, is ryzen a likely candidate or is it too week of an upgrade

Depends on when PS5 releases. I can see it use Zen+ if it comes out in 2020 instead of 2019.

Probably the Zen APU.  But I don't see a PS5 announcement for another 2-3 years.
