Discounting the Switch from the home consoles and adding it exclusively to the handhelds is completely ridiculous. You can't just say "Oh I consider the Switch a handheld" when it 100% out of the box functions like a home console as well as a handheld. This is not a matter of opinion, these things are defined and the Nintendo Switch clearly checks the mark of both definitions.

thinking of the big picture, it doesnt really matter if its technically a handheld or a home console. for the most part its going after the same audience that the PS4 and XB1 are targeting. if the switch goes on to outsell the PS4 from here on out, Sony wont be like "but its a handheld, so we dont care". it will try and compete and take away from that market share to go back to being number 1. NS is after whats left of the handheld market and for the most part the PS4 and XB1 market.

I'm sorry but I can and I will. It's actually less ridiculous then vita TV numbers being counted as vita numbers.

It's a handheld with w TV connection gimmick. It's got the power of a handheld.

Actually I don't see what's ridiculous about that. The Vita TV is part of the Vita line of products. Counting the Vita TV as a handheld would be ridiculous, but I'm pretty sure that's not what people do.

What is "the power of a handheld"? Where is that defined and since when is power a deciding factor in the definition of a console or handheld?

Lmao it's clearly a factor for me and many others who view the Switch as a handheld over a home console.

Like I said this is not a matter of opinion. Calling something your opinion is not a ticket that allows you to lable things in any way you want.

There are clear attributes that define what home consoles and handhelds do and the Switch does both, so if you want to put the Switch into a hybrid category that does both, then fine, but if you want to deny it its home console status based on nothing but your opinion then I'm going to call you out on your battleship.

Maybe you're just not understanding the difference between how you would use something and how it would be defined, many people used the PS2 and PS3 as DVD/Bluray players, that still doesn't mean those systems can be exclusively defined as DVD/Bluray players even as an opinion, the same holds true here, just because you or others use the Switch as a handheld does not mean it loses its home console attributes.. But I somehow feel that you know that very well and are only defining the Switch exclusively as a handheld to preventively cover your dog in case the Switch outsells the PS4, even if only in Japan, and that makes me embarrassed not salty.
