January UK Retail.

Inspite of weak pre-orders it seems like word of mouth has driven first week sales of Nioh in Japan pretty well, if Comg is anything to go by.

The game ended its pre-order run with 32 points and ended up selling 184 copies at Comg stores in its first week. By comparison Gravity Rush 2 ended its run with 36 points and only sold 93 copies first week at the chain.

Nioh seems like it'll do pretty well in the west too. It's tapped into the dark souls market.

Ps3 had sold 9.8m by March 2014 around when the ps4 released.  It sold about 700k after launch despite never dropping to a really low price.  Ps4 will also sell after the ps5 releases and it will also likely reach a much much lower price around 2020. Could be as low as $149.

So if ps4 reaches 9m by the ps5 release it could still hit 10m+.

Nioh is #1 in the U.K. in terms of revenue

GTA V da beast.

@Aura7541 actually the GAF thread and GameIndustry article are inaccurate.

GTA is #1 in both Revenue and Units

Nioh is only #1 in individual SKUs for units and revenue.

Really Microsoft? fudgy really? You couldn't even be bothered to collect global data to back this claim?

Still congrats to FH3.

Nvm they are combining Forza 5, Forza 6, FH2 and FH3 to say it is the best selling this gen.

Hardly... they are at least estimating WW sales.

NPD US first month: 150k.

Even if you add October, November, December and January... plus Australia, Canada, New Zeland, etc... it won't be close to 2.5m... it needs Europe.
