It would have got even more nominations with a different lead.

I saw X Men apocalypse. Definitely the best of the prequels.

It did a lot of world building/setup and I liked that. Also was just much more fun than the other two.

Hmm I doubt I'll like it more than the others. Days of future past was very good

Avatar 2: Motion Capture Begins in August - IGN

I know people like to shame on Avatar, but it's one of my favorites.  Not even necessarily for the story. I understand the pitfalls for it and why people don't like it, but it was one of the best cinema experiences i've ever had.

Saying that I hope 2, 3, 4, and 5(I think 2 and 3 would have been enough) are much better in story.  But I'm sure we can count on an amazing looking world again.

I'm right there with you. Loved the movie so much when it came out and all the news about Avatar Land and the sequels has me so excited.

It's been 8 years since Avatar (holy fudge time goes fast) and that'll probably help a lot with the movie's success. If it released 5 years ago while it was still popular to hate, that'd be an uphill battle.

Yeah it's absolutely crazy to think it's been 8 years.  It's the movie that really pushed me to want to do environment art.  I had started thinking about it but it pushed me enough to do it.

I really hope that A2 doesn't get delayed to 2019.  Hope December 2018 is achievable.

Also Avatarland is gonna be amazing.  Can't wait till it opens.

It's a fudgy shame that James Horner passed away.  His music in Avatar was simply amazing.  I'm worried whoever does the new movies won't live up to it, but I'm optimistic that they will keep the same sounds of the music.

I absolutely love Avatar. Can't wait for the sequels, so this is great news!

I hope james cameron can really deliver on amazing glasses free 3D.  If he can do that then I can see these will be massive hits again.  I doubt he will for Avatar 2, but maybe avatar 3 and beyond will be.

I don't understand why he keeps mentioning that. A glasses less 3D is a display tech not a film tech.

Maybe he means rendering a light field but that's still a long way off from being common or standardized. Plus the data would be multiple terabytes. And rendering would take at least 10 times longer.

Yeah I'm not sure what he's trying to want to do with it.  But he seems adamant about doing it or getting it.  Maybe he wants to help develop the display tech more for theaters.  I'm sure he will have a trial run with small amounts of theaters with avatar 2 if he is serious about it.

Saw Passengers.

Incredibly well done science accuracy. I did not expect that at all from the trailers. Overall I actually enjoyed it a lot, mostly due to the space stuff.

ummm what? Days of Future past was WAY better than it. in fact days of future past is hands down the best super hero film. First Class was also pretty good. Apocalypse isnt as bad as people say, its a fun movie, decent. but the formula is just tired by now. plus the VFX in it were weird, a noticable step down from Days of Future Past. at times they felt really really out of place.

La la land was just wonderful

Seen train spotting 2. Very nostalgic and obviously targeted at fans of the original.  Thoroughly enjoyable though.  Loved every minute.  Found it emotional too.

I watched passengers too.  A space flick with a unique twist.  thoroughly enjoyed it too.
