Sony Pictures' output has been pretty bad, so I'm not surprised to hear this.

I've liked a lot of their films but they've certainly been financially bad.

This would be a good thing.  They'd have a lot of cash in the bank to invest in their other divisions.

Sad thing is Sony needs the movie division for their digital platforms.  I think they just need to get the right people in there.  Sounds like it's run by idiots.

Ghostbusters was trash. Spiderman was good but ridiculous budget and doesn't have control anymore. Other than that... Nothing worth mentioning

imo sony should keep their pictures.  

they have control of soo much content and also have a lot of experience with psvue and psnow and psn on digital distribution and streaming.  sony should be brave and do a netflix style competitor.  

movies theatres are a dying institution just like brick and mortar shopping.  they are well positioned to traverse the new economy if only they were brave enough to try.
