Just heard about that attack and the Russian ambassador to Turkey being murdered. For Germany's sake, let's hope there won't be a New Years Eve Cologne Ver. 2.0

i'm sorry,.. what is your point?  ...cause it sounds as if you think if this attack happened with an assault rifle instead of a car that somehow there would have been fewer victims.

the orlando shooting was 49 dead.

no one can rid the world of violence but you don't have to make it so easy to commit mass murder.

my point is you didn't make a point.   are you able to provide any substance to your statement to support your view or do you only have empty rhetoric?

san bernandio had 14 dead at a holiday party with 75-80 people in attendance: 17.5% death to survival ratio.

orlando had 49 dead with 320 people in attendance: 15.3% death to survival ratio.

berlin xmas market had 14 dead with hundreds in attendance:  ~4% death to survival ratio.

i'd much rather terrorists have to use cars instead of guns to fullfil their acts of terror.

also, truck attacks against public spaces are far easier to protect against:

Your non point about me not making a point is ironic

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this idiotic notion that this is proof gun control works.... I mean, ignoring for a second that the suspect had and used a gun in this case.... I'm not sure how electing to mow people down with a tractor trailer is proof gun control works. It's the equivalent of me saying Timothy McVeigh is proof gun control works.....

see here,.. you attempted to make a compete thought!

the thing about "gun control" is what do you mean by "gun control"?  it's a pretty generic term and i don't think it means the same thing to everyone.

where i get angry at the "anti gun control" people are when they move so far to the extreme as to say that criminals are criminals and therefore will cause crime regardless of the law and therefore gun control law only punish law abiding citizens and do nothing to curb crime.

to me that is basically saying laws do nothing and therefore there is no point to having any laws.  i'm quite certain that if rape weren't illegal a substantially larger number of rapes would occur.  with rape laws there are still women who get raped but i sincerely believe that many are prevented by the idea that there is punishment to be faced if you do so.

so then i get angry at things like the terrorist list policy.  we have a list of people we think are quite likely to commit terrorism and go so far as to not allow them fly on a plane.   ...however we'll sell them an assault rifle.  orlando maybe could have been prevented by such policy but our second amendment fanatics that fund congressional republican just won't have that.

also the so called "gun show" loophole which is really a miss marketed "background check" loop hole.  we have all these laws to ensure those that buy guns are criminals or mental challenged but hey,.. you figured out how to use the internet so i guess we don't need to run a background check on you.  how is that a thing??

final thought...  if your goal is to have any intelligent discussion about this whole NPR thing you might want to fill the rest of us in on what was said seeing as no one else participated in that.

My original post was a complete thought too.
