Although the "but" is still kind of weird.
I think the author just has it worded weird like they are supposed to be connected, but that definitely isn't the reason they moved it up.  Who knows.  I'd love for shinobi to leak a potential release year.

@bold, I haven't been paying attention.
So sure, mid 2018 is probably most likely.

This was important to know.
Sure, game development takes more time.  It always takes more time every generation.
We have Uncharted 4 to go off of, and we can compare that to how much time they could have finished it, and it's way more optimistic than you think it is.
First I edited my post above, so you might want to check that out, and second we don't really have UC4 to go off of cause we don't really know when that game began development, remember that after UC2 until sometime in UC4s development cycle ND was a two team studio, so development on UC4 is not unlikely to have started in late 2011 or early 2012. Sure the tossed out 8 months of recorded material by the actors but that doesn't mean that all the other work that was done under Hennig was just tossed out as well.

And in regards to that Druckmann quote, here's the whole tihng in video form, there's really not much to read into here:

June 2018. Betting it will release in June like Last of Us 1. They had great success then because it seems like no big games release during that time.
Legend made me remove this. Everybody riot.

Yeah I would bet that this is what they're aiming for right now. Mid 2018, most likely June.

It seems like the project is running smoothly so hopefully there will be no delays. Although I guess the lack of Bruce this time around will cause a bit of uncertainty which could disturb production.
