Scorpio price?

AMD had the prices of zen cpu leak. so if Scorpio is using zen then the cheapest 8 core is going to be 350, according to the leak. so we are looking at a 700+ box or its still using jaguar.

The GPU and RAM may also drive up the price. I'm going to say $450 at the lowest, $500 at the highest.

i don't believe ms is stupid enough to release a console that costs more that $500.

I didn't believe Microsoft was stupid enough to try always online DRM policies for an entire console at a time when people were furious about certain PC games having them and to sell a console at the $500 price point because it insisted on packing in an expensive camera device that nobody actually wanted and they themselves weren't prepared to support. But, here we are.

I think the Scorpio will use the Polaris architecture for its GPU. Vega is coming out next year, but that plus HBM2 will drive up the cost a whole lot. Not to mention, at that point, you might as well call the Scorpio a next-gen console.

Zen uses Hyper Threading. It doesn't need a full 8 core.
